WHO influences Decision Making the most?

Not talking about yourself, but you've watched a lot of people make decisions...In your experience, who do people MOST listen to/take advice from/ask when making a decision that will change their mind/make a difference in their lives/change their direction/?

    1. Spouse/Partner
    2. Peer Pressure
    3. Family
    4. Religious Head
    5. Government
    6. Experts
    7. People you trust
    8. People you like
    9. Enemies
    10 Media
    11. Other

The specific question may come from any of the list. The final decision is most influenced by people I trust. Most of the others on the list are used a resources and can answer specifics. My spouse is fortunately in the trust circle. She is also a full business partner.

I tended to apply the advice i received from the people i respected the most.

This respect was earned via actions, deeds, rationalization, and results.

Parsley...thinking about this has me conclude that i've had 4 mentors....

one taught me how to work..up to 20 hours per day...

one taught me to understand the value of our soils and micro-organisms it contains...

one taught me to be logically organized and decisive...

one taught me to trust common sense and to have confidence in my instincts...

Ergo...I concluded many years ago that i value being respected much more than being popular....Bill

Observing other people, do you think they go by common sense and instinct, Bill?

Instinct is an emotion-based tool, is it not?, and one that can throw the common sense out with the coffee grounds. Maybe we just say, "I want it/them/those to be like this..", and then call it instinct.

per, should people trust instinct? Are trustworthy people/businesses more likely to instinctively trust others, and, as a result, be let down?

          I think I need an instinct-alignment. lol

Isn't instinct somehow based on the cumulative knowledge from experience. I'm leery of totally trusting it but more often than not it turns out right. People with good instinct are often correct. When all else fails my instinct sends me in the "contrarian direction".

              Wikipedia(an opinion only):

              QUOTE
To be considered instinctual a behavior must
              a) be automatic,
              b) be irresistible,
              c) occur at some point in development,
              d) be triggered by some event in the environment,
              e) occur in every member of the species,
              f) be unmodifiable, and
              g) govern behavior for which the organism needs no training (although the organism may profit from experience and to that degree the behavior is modifiable).

The absence of one or more of these criteria indicates that the behavior is not fully instinctual.UNQUOTE

Instinct can be good or it can be bad.

                Parsley....

I looked up "instinct" in a World Book dictionary...a natural feeling, knowledge or power, an inborn tendency to act in a certain way.

"Intuition" may have been a more accurate word....the immediate perception or understanding of truths, facts, or events, without reasoning.

I don't care to opine on other peoples influences.....but your category of "other" should probably contain the old "Hip National". It has been said the shortest circuit to the brain is through the pocket book!...Bill
