'09 pulse acres may be huge.

The last of the commodity bubble may be set to burst. At current input levels canola may not be profiable under 30bpa. Wheat is already teatering on loss levels. Pulses may rule the landscape next year, setting up a big fall in those prices. I hope everyone has locked in some good prices for fall b/c the market is currently trying to steal grain/oilseeds and the input manufactures are bending us over. Hold on boys, stick to your guns, it's going to be a rough ride.

Go to H E double hockey sticks. Also am I the only one in west that doesn't feel this is a very late crop all over.

Tell those pri$# that yes we do have bin space, or we will get some. Yellows are going down every day, but greens will be a very good premium later - all our greens are getting locked in the bin and yellows were contracted a while ago. Wheat/barley can go on the ground or in a bag(screw the CWB). Only the contracted canola will be sold, the rest will be in the bin. The market thinks we have a huge crop and that we will not have space - There dead wrong!!! Cargil has not brought in one drop of liquid fert, this tells me that they are being cautious b/c they do not want to get burnt like they did several years ago with expensive inventories that depreciate come spring. I am sorry but the world can not afford to sustain current fert prices, food production will nose dive. Run the numbers in a few more weeks then see if buying fert now pays. If a below average crop comes off/hail/drought/frost, you will loose everything very fast with escalating inputs and spiraling grain/oilseed prices. Have a great weekend, good luck to all.

How much is china and indias current MONTHLY account surplus?

        Couple of hundred billion?

Methinks we are fine.No shortage of cash chasing the widget market.

That last comment should have been am i the only one in western canada that feels this is a very late crop.
Alberta crop conditions can be summed up in three ways
          1- Very DRY
          2- very Late
          3- Nice
