best way to market is to sell some product 3-4 times throughout the year. Won't get the top end price for it all but you won't be at the bottom either.
think about it 1200 lb reds at $.40/lb gives you $480 ac - whats are all your costs $200 ac?? - So on 8 quarters your net wage will be $358,400 - yes you have risks but put that money in your bank and save some for the rainy days.
Be carefull holding lentils too long into next year - price will ration demand and with fert sky high watch the lentil/pea acres for 2009 increase a huge amount. Means buyers won't be buying any more than they need through the summer and will wait for 2009 crop to come off to get cheaper product.

By the way I'm glad farmers can get these prices - it makes every other business in SK profitable.
