    Rain comming again!

Reminds me of last harvest, comdine for two days sit for three. Oh well, got winter wheat cleaned and ready, just have to hook up the airseeder tomorow when it's wet. The weather forcasters in May - June could not have been more wrong now they are bang on at harvest - go figure.

    "Rain makes grain".

Sounds like a record harvest this year. Big crops from Edmonton to Yorkton.
Ending stocks will rebuild to comfortable levels once again. The "supply problem" has been resolved.
I think STATS CAN IS WAY TOO LOW.

You don't get out much grain beetle, most of the big crops come from that stretch of ground and south of Winnipeg, so take a drive on #1 and see what you think and then go up to peace country and guess again on your comment of above average crop.

yeah , we finally got a shot of rain, but instead of losing pipe wrench in the cracks of the ground we will only loose the crescent wrench.., we will be done harvest in a couple of weeks at this pace, before many areas get really rolling on spring crops, this is no bin buster, i hope the guys with the big crops get hem before jack frost takes a hit, we had our big one last year....glta

Grain Beetle I am in that area and our crops are below average. Canola is burnt everywhere and with all the farmers swathing in plus 32 windy conditions is not going to help. In fact on our farm right now we would love a rain. If we got an inch of rain the ground would be dry within a couple hours.

Grain Beetle, you are obviously not a farmer. It rained at the right times on about 20% of western Canada this year. That means 80% of the crop will be average at best to below average - take a drive. So far 90% of the winter wheat is well below average and at least 50% of the peas are below average. Let me guess, you have never left your R.M. all year? If you think stats Can. is way too low please sell all your grain now at the lowest possible price or give it to the borg for 25% below market price and wait for your finnal payment in christmas '09. BTW, incase you do not get out much, rain this time of year actually costs money, never in my life have I seen such a stupid comment this time of year!

Small, weedy crops coming off this year. Farmers couldn't afford to spray or chose not to spray. Wild oats abound everywhere, good cow food though! Inflation has hit big time. Little or now summerfallow, abandon fields, yup high prices bring the good times to the farm, each and every time. No confidence in angribusiness is hurting most. More loans promised for the P River country, where drought prevails. Election around the corner, go harpman go and take that cracker wit you!
