Yeild results on Canola or Malt Barley?

I read the posts on peas, and wheat. Anyone do any canola yet?? Our first will be this weekend. Lots of 2 row malt being done here. Yeilds from 80 95bpa.

The canola is going to be in intersting, crops looked like 50's during the year, after cutting I think more like 40.

Swathing canola today in East Central Sask and found 400 acres that just suck. Now that's out of the 3000 but I cant figure out what happened here. Only thing is the down pour 4 inch rain in July followed by a inch a day rains. This will drop our average a bit.

so, snappy is young and successful? Just the way we need young Western farmers to be? And you are green-eyed?

Your own kids must thive on your kind of encouraging words and praise, burbert.

Malt barley that I have harvested 60 bpa. Biggest rain all year 10mm. Rain a couple of nights ago-18mm. This is an area between Humboldt and Melfort.

What does it mean when you are swathing canola and the roller is turning backwards, anyone building a hydrauilc or motor drivin one? Or is this just a peace country thing. Ps, this is not a joke.

haven't started yet but they are forecasting -2 on Sunday and 0 on Monday so that will take care of the 'malt', some of the green canola, and the 1&2 spring wheat

Ours is pre ripenned so we are now swathing 24 hour a day to get it done before we lose too much. The stuff shattering is small seeds. Hoping weather stays cool the next few days to help the green stuff mature in the swath. On the good side the swath looks healthy after swathing and there is no worm damage this year and also didn't farm around any sloughs. Hoping for 30 b/a
The local Pioneer is taking in everyones barley as malt that is harvested at the moment.
Walked into a neighbours oats crop that I thought looked good from the road. After walking into it it looked thin stand. Very small seeds. And has some shattering damage.
