Lawsuit against Fertilizer Companies for Gouging!

Maybe its the time one spends swathing that you have a lot of time to think but here is something to ponder.
We are in the process of looking at a new Anhydrous system that lets us apply the gas in Nov,Dec March and April. It shoots the gas into the ground as farmer travels at a high speed. Basically a semi trailer mounted on a 50 plus ft bar. OK back to lawsuit. They claim their is such demand for their product that they have to charge these prices. Well where the hell in middle of winter is some one applying fertilizer. Yes in Australia and S America. But in northern areas really none even down south in January really none. My point these Canadian and American companies are lying about demand.
It would be a class action lawsuit.
I don't know just throwing it out. Any Lawyers on Site (Tony buddy).
Most people cant take delivery of product in Winter very little is sold other than on paper. Big tanks don't hold may tons.
I don't know but its just an Idea. Because When the President of a Fertilizer company is doing a speech and says farmers in North America will pay $2000 a ton for fertilizer because of the increase in Prices they are receiving.
Buddy prices have dropped 30% to 40% since their highs.
So any Lawyers give us some ideas.

Let us know what you find about the winter nh3 system. high pressure injects through frozen ground? how much snow/ice is acceptable?

i guess if they can get people to pay their price they've made the point that the demand is there. their cost is irrelevant to their price if they can get you to pay. as far as the nh3 system goes will the soil retain ammonia applied at those temps?

If it rains us out the week of Sept 9 to 11 we are going to Big Iron in Fargo ND the system is their and will have a demo "I think". But I think we have Rights in this country for every thing else they must be breaking some rule somewhere. Monopoly etc. Or Put in a Tariff like China and India then give the product to their own producers for $100.00 a ton. But this isn't a subsidy.
If you don't ask the questions you'll never get answers you need. We need a answer for fert. now. Corn in the USA with today's Fert. Prices is a Money looser what the heck will Canola be and HRS?

On weber's webite there is a dtn fertilizer report. Sounds to me that with the high prices some demand is softening.

I find it interesting that companies believe their product is the greatest. I have never seen people eat fertilizer. We can grow a smaller crop with less fertilzer and starve more people. It a chicken and egg game. But grain will always win out. I might grow less but it will be worth quite a bit more.

Our neighbors experiment with 1120 acres of Oats with no fert. All they did was work once this spring. Sprayed roundup then seeded oats. Sprayed with 2-4D. We will be combining so will have yield monitors working to give yield later. Last year they got 52 bushel an acre using the same system Had two SMF this year its all stubble Oats. Oh yea they sold at $4.00 and have a contract for $4.25 this winter.
            Our oats is across road.
55LBS gas $43.00 plus phos at 40LBS 25.00 That's 20 bushels gone for fert. Next year could be 40 bushels.

It may be a good thing, high fertilizer prices. It should/will wean us off fertilizer, hence change some of the continuing cropping practices, give some of the land a rest. Grow less, get more for the grain. People have to have their Shreddies don't they? Or will they switch to a constant diet of eggbeaters and live happy forever and a day? What the heck are eggbeaters anyway, people who treat eggs very, very badly, I guess.

Actually burbert the land doesn't need a rest - it needs to be crop every year. Do you ever see native grass not produce? It might look like nothing but its still producing. If you are cultivating you are mining the land and that's counterproductive.

I agree Bucket. Burpfart your the one who is mining and ruining the land. We have property that was broke 15 years ago and has been seeded ever since. The yield monitor still to this day goes nuts on that 80 acres. So the SMF experiment hurt canadian farmland the most.

I am at the lake since harvest is done for a few days. Closing the cabin so I don't have the companies name. Ill get info if we go. Its got a steep cost of close to 80000 to 100000 dollars but should recoup costs.

I guess, time will tell, who is farming in a sustainable manner. Clubroot anyone, mold fungus, rot, leaf diease. The answer to the problems according to our local agronomist/salesperson is,..... wait for it, spray more and use the good stuff, unfortunately its very expensive but the good news is, we have lots available. Won't work out cause of the cost, oh well thats a management decision that each and every farmer must make. Then use lots and lots and lots of fertilizer, don't worry about the cost, it'll ultimately pay for itself! Yeah right @##$%%$#@@$$.

Berburt is a typical ignorant backwards tillage happy farmer that is so out of touch with his land he can't distinguish erroded soil from blow dirt ridges.

I think some people believe that when they have 40bpa every two years their average is 40 bpa when in fact its less than 20bpa once the summerfallow/chemfallow is included in the equation.

I have a neighbor telling me how his wheat on chemfallow is going 30 bpa. Great, so it my wheat on 8 year continuous cropland. He figures he is ahead even though I explain to him he made nothing last year on that land. The same guy chemfallowed 2000 acres of rented land in 2007 thinking he was money ahead AND he he rented more. I don't think his or burbert math skills are all that good.
