    Nothin like a fresh rain?

Looks like half of Sask is getting rain tonight. All our cereals are done just some canola/canary left. S/F was right on Sunday night and all is still for a while. Oh and no room at any elevator anywhere, thank god we have moved everything on contract and quotas - room left in the bin for whas left and thats where it will stay for a while. Enjoy the rest and cograts to those who are done.

Here in the peace country they are telling us barley wont make malt because it is chitted because 3 tenths of rain sprouted the standing barley. The speal is it is not sprouted but in the pearling process it knocks off the sprout. They did this a few years ago and people with one and two year old grain combined without a drop of rain was chitted. Someone correct me but is not pearling barley for soup, and germ is not a factor. Why or are malters pearling barley for malt when they reject it for being peeled.

I have farmed for 35 years and worked in the elevators for years. What the hell is chitted?
