I think the main question would be .Why do American grain elevators have higher prices on wheat, durum, malt when we all try and serve the same customers and the U.S. exports more grain.

Or is it your culture of greed? You are in the Gordon Gecko camp of Greed is good.

What you seem to not want to understand is that it has never been a question of physically delivering ones grain to the US. The issue is to have the same market access on both sides of the border. Lets bring those cash markets to this side of the border and level the playing field for all grains. And if it is handlng facilities that these companies or CWB2 needs I have one for hire.

I still kinda curious about a question from a couple of threads (using durum as a example).

A farmer who sells milling durum for $11/bu is greedy.

A farmer who participates in the pool and delivers 1CWAD for a promise of $9/bu is a good farmer.

On a whole bunch of levels, what does it say about the farmer and the CWB when the fixed price contract for 1CWAD is $7/bu?

How about first cleaning up the mess at home?

An Ontario farmer can set his price, and haul his grain to Robin Hood Mills in Ontario. I have to sell to the CWB.

AND pay for all the licensing costs for the grain the Ontario farmer also exported to Japan. And Hong Kong. The CWB defended doing more of the same in court yesterday. I wrote about it on my blog.

This CWB mantra is another definition of "unreasonable" that should be defined on Wikipedia.

It's not about getting more or less its wanting to get more than anyone else , even if it means they go out of business. I don't begrudge my neighbor getting a higher price as long as it doesnt cost me money. There is a big difference between wanting the best price and trying to get more than anyone else.

                    Hmm. Explain what you advocate.

You are in University. There is a $30 Thousand scholarship.

You want the best marks, but you want everyone to share the money?

Do your best , try for the scholarship but don't complain if someone beats you. Scholarships are also awarded on the basis of need as well as academic merit. Everyone doesn't have to get the same as long as the process of getting that price is fair.
