    I was just asking for an opinion. I realize you aren't there yet but the answers/opinions is part of becoming informed as a voter.

    As for chuckles outside sources for a review of prices US vs Canada maybe a few farmers from both sides of the border could review their net cashable cheques. I think that is as far as it has to go. Compare cheques throughout the year. And the impact it makes to have 8 buck durum six months sooner.

      It's a good suggestion to compare US and Cdn prices for other crops. In Informa's study, they looked at canola prices in Saskatchewan and North Dakota. Check out page 46 of their report. Quote: In eight years out of the last nine, the Canadian canola price has been higher than the US.

      I'm pretty sure the US crushes almost all of its own canola and exports very little. If that's the case, by the CWB's own argument, the US guys should be getting a higher canola price because we export almost half of our crop. But the Informa report shows that Cdn farmers get a higher price most of the time. Hmm.
