Are there any pasta plants in western Cda? I thought there were at least a couple of small ones.

I think there is a test lab in the CWB building in Winnipeg. Does that count?

I thought there was a couple in Alberta and one in Swift Current. Maybe they've been driven out of business by the CWB trying to maximize prices. Too bad now it's on zero tonnes. Zero tonnes times $1,000 per tonne adds how much to the pool accounts?

You will not have money in your pooling accounts as long as you vote for Directors who not only hand over value-add ventures to Toronto, but send YOU the damn bill for it.Do you know why there is always so little money in your pooling accounts?

CWB's Limp Excuses and Noodles

When Prairie farmers vote in the upcoming CWB election, keep in mind that Western farmers are paying for this marketing campaign to promote Toronto's pasta making value adders, yes we are, that we are paying for the promotional kickoff party, yes we are, that we are paying for co-branding, yes we are, that we are co-paying for the consumer surveys, yes we are, so that an Ontario based company will succeed, and all all the while, the CWB told prairie producers that Prairie Pasta was not a viable venture. That it had never been done before. That we could not succeed. The CWB's message is the East can do it but the West will not be allowed. If I were David Schnell I would want to cram each page of Prairie Pasta's business plan up the Wheat Board's nose, but the Toronto pasta company have probably already Incorporated them. Parsley

If farmers are so eager to invest their surplus capital in processing then there are many opportunities that don't involve the CWB:
oat processing, breafast cereals, canola crushing, pulse processing and canning, meat processing, value added meat products, flax oil crushing, food grade flax, sunflower oil, poultry processing.

Instead of spending all your time crticizing the CWB perhaps your time would be better spent developing business plans for the many wonderfull business opportunities out there.
