    Pioneer Blinked

Was told "your looking at between 600 and 700 dollars".

Looks like reality is setting in.

Was told lines of credit were also still open.

Pioneer blinking here too, was told that .65 N very soon. Also they dropped their canola basis to $11. This waiting thing is starting to pay off.
For those of you that feel sory for the fert dealers, they made more margin last year than what you paid two years ago. Just have to figure out when to buy before cottons inflation kicks in? Jan/Feb, cotton?

FNA is asleep on the fert issue.
Basis etc will start to shop better days since these guys see farmers maybe don't need cash as bad as they thought. Very few fell for the whole sky is falling mentality and purchased all. Dealer still says his Canola sales are up but his Monsanto, Bayer and Dekalb say their sales are down around 30%. I believe them over my dealer since he is leaving seed emails and text messages for the last two weeks. Home next week. Americans are worried about their land values if the bubble is burst and land settles lower Credit will dry up and farming will be difficult for US producers.

I told the local when it gets under 550 I will quit just drinking coffee when I stop in. I think 475 is possible and profitable for all involved.

Canola acres will be down about 20% regardless fert price or market price. $14/15 canola may bring acres up a bit but that is unlikely. So... seed sales will be off accordinly. If one could purchase seed, fert, chem, fuel, herbicides at last years prices canola acres would still be down 10%. Most producers seeded 15-20% more canola than normal due to economics, period. "09" looks to be normal at 13-14 mill. ac. $14/bus canola pays big time over $10/bus. JMO
One fly in the ointment is CWB grains, very little or no profit projected for "09" at this time.

Richardsons will definatly be getting a second look when I buy my 500 mt of fert this winter. My regular supplier told me today that they just cant drop their price from $900 for 46-0-0 they will loose their shirts if they do. Too bad for for them, they can sit on their high priced product for a few years. If they dont sell it they wont be taking a loss. Thank You Pioneer.

B/W, you should mention that if you sold your canola for less than $15/bus, or wheat for less than $8/bus you would loose money as well.

Local Pioneer is 650/tonne cash take home now
Independent was sniffing for competitors prices the other day told him I had a friend who brought in 55cent urea from the states which is true.

Independent also said they were basically sitting empty.

                            Thank you pioneer is right!

Somebody woke up and said "heh profit through volume".

Amazing how much business i do with a company i know nothing about.

Timing is up in the air,so many factors.

I have doubts about anything sub 500,but were half way to that line.

I will be watching now and if my last years supplier does not follow the down trend very soon it will be Pioneer all the way. Blinking may not be the right term here, more like customer relations is better. Their pea price has been rising lately also for immediate delivery.
