    You can't be serious.

So I am finally ready to start seeding today, and I don't get to because there is no anhydrous. Not cool. Guys who use dry are going, liquid are going, this is crazy. Wonder how crop insurance will work in this case, when it rains and it becomes a too wet to seed issue? It's already pretty near too wet to seed. And now with no juice, we who use it can't go. Only if you are a farmer can things get this screwed up.

    What a #$%@!&% joke.

Yeah, I thought about that, still am, I think I will stop thinking soon. And then they'll fill me up! Trouble is, probably I'll try the top dress later option, then it won't rain... Guys are going ballistic round here. The guys that need nh3 at least. If we were half done, or almost done is one thing, but the state the area is in is a bit of a fix with half the guys having done two days max, and many guys not yet started.

If you are addicted to NH3, you could apply 50% in the fall.

The important thing at this point is to get the seed in the ground and worry about feeding it later. Last year I busted the axle on the liquid buggy so I went ahead and seeded 3 1/4s of canola and topdressed after. It turned out just fine. The one positive for you is that if something happens to the crop due to excess moisture you can decide how much if any fert to apply.Good luck Dudebro.

Ag star my friend, I'm not addicted to nh3, I am set up for it on my seeder. As far as fall applyiing, I wish I had the financial means to do so, as well, I started combining on nov the 6th last year. We have got over an inch so far, rain started near noon.

guys, when does one throw in the towel? I'm just so sick of it.

Agstar - if your addicted to the cwb, just give 50% of your grain away to Sudan or some other third world country for free - oh wait they already beat you to the punch!! That statement just put you in Stewart Wells boat, dumba$$.
Freewheat, I hope the best to you, no matter what numdskulls say.

Most have just started or about to start. You cant control mother nature. As for pulling the pin, Im sure mose farmers within 100 miles of you are asking themselves the same question.

Hey Breadwinner, i appreciate knowing someone has some understanding. Thank you. The difference between me and the guys that have been started is simply put, labour and finances. I am alone, so when I need seed, fertilizer, harrowing done, stone picking, its me and me alone. Frustrating when guys don't get this and mock a fellow for working twice as hard as they do and yet getting less done in a day. Don't know if crop insurance takes this into account or not...

Freewheat, your neighbors must be real ***** if they would say crap like that! I feel your pain trying to work alone with limited resources however I count myself pretty lucky I have had lots of help from family over the years.I farm just a bit west of you and we are just a little bit better off moisture wise, or at least we were.

                          Hey redleaf,

I didn't mean my neighbors ALL are like that, but you hear things sometimes that suck. You gotta just keep the head held high... BUT, many guys are so out of touch and grew up farming with 3 or four guys in their operation, that they have no perspective, because things run so smoothly for them with two, three, or more men. I do know one guy I consider a friend thought I was crazy because I hire custom spraying done which frees my time up to seed, harrow, etc. He thought I was nuts, but he has ALWAYS had daddy there to help, and labour has never been a problem. Farming same land base as me, and wonders why I hire spraying done? That one got back to me from a mutual friend who actually understands my perspective.

Nothing I love more than picking up a load of fertilizer, and chatting with one of these young guys with all the toys daddy bought, and free labour, the conversation goes like this: " hey, you got much in?" asks he.

ME: Just getting rolling today. You (I'm polite, lol)
HIM: Oh we got about 2 000 in, been going hard for 3 days, got both units going, but one broke a hose so we're screwed for the next hour or so. Bout half done.
                          ME: I see

In my mind I'm thinking you little friggin' spoiled punk. I, as you know, farm less than you have seeded in three days, have just "lost" the same amount of time as your one hose busted unit, but lost the time driving to town and my seeder is lonely with no driver. Meanwhile you have three or four guys running the two units and the support system, and can spell eachother off. You have auto steer, so really your not working, your daddy's hired man is the one working in the heat hauling to you, and if he is ten minutes late, you assume the role of foreman and get pissed right off at him, and puff out youur chest like an overgrown peacock, cuz you farm so much land which in turn makes you awesome.

HAHAHAH. Someday I'll grow some and actually tell one of these little peacocks just that.

But I'm not bitter! Just wish they understood my position a bit and didn't rub in the fact they are done my farm size in three days. LOL
