US Yields maybe aren't the Bin Busters.

Here's is a comment that was posted describing what Iowa farmers are finding. Iowa is Corn and Bean country Big yields very nice operations. Great place to farm.
FWIW: From the heart of Iowa, a farmer-contact of mine says where the harvest is good, it's really good. But, where it's bad, it's really bad. For instance, one of his neighbors that expected 220 bu./acre harvested corn at just 150 bu./acre. He says the reports he's hearing are not that good, so far.

Separately, in the past few days, we've all seen some analyst firms come out with surprisingly low yield average estimates. And the market has been wondering about what kind of harvest is in Iowa. Maybe, my farmer-contact's comment is more relevant than I think.
Any one in Canada who is harvesting will probably agree. Where its good in the field its good and where its bad its really bad.
Our peas prime example 60 on higher ground 0 on lower to 5. Average 30.
Durum 75 on higher ground 0 to 10 in Flat drowned out areas. Average 40. No bin buster and these two crops were seeded in April and first few days of may on some of our best drained ground. (sorry landscaped). Rest will be even worse.
Also a hurricane in next 6 to 10 will hit Bean country with huge amounts of rain was on us weather service.

I guess what I am trying to say is if the Big hitter states like Iowa have lower yields do to excess moisture. Isn't the same going to happen in Canada. Manitoba red river valley big hitter for canola and HRS etc. Flooding ext lower yields.
In Sask if the Big hitters like Melfort Tisdale Canora Kamsack have no crop seeded or late and frost or just same as were finding will this not take down the rosy picture. Now throw in frost in Alberta and West Sask and its like I said in June If the weather pattern doesn't change mother nature will screw up a crop faster than any politician.
We live in Northern Climate their is no second chance to grow a crop and were dealt the cards we get. This year I got all 2s and a 5. Some had all Aces. Have a great day drying out raining in southern Sask this morning but looks good Friday sat sun Mon and Tues. Hug a tree today since they help the atmosphere. Then Bulldoze the sucker down and plant a row where they should have been. Always environmentally challenged. Have a good one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
