A CWB 'pool' rule for 'designated area' Eskimo grain growers...

    Charlie,

Did you know the 200 percent feed wheat EPO basically equals the FPC discounted to feed wheat each day?

I do not understand HOW the CWB justifies calling this a 200 percent EPO... as it tracks the cash price. There I go talking Eskimo again...

If the 200 percent EPO is $464... then one would have expected that it SHOULD have logically... if one were an Eskimo grain grower... be constant between PRO releases.

But of course... I there I go...speaking Eskimo again. The new 200 percent EPO is the 'single desk' way to turn Eskimos back into 'Pool' farmers...

Those warm pool waters... that lull you to sleep... and means you should never need to track futures of basis prices again... before we could just fall asleep at our warm Eskimo winter home in Arizona...

How could it have been any better!!!

    IT is NOW!

I can be both an Eskimo farmer... and stay warm in the CWB pool at the same time!!!

WOW... what an amazing thing the CWB 'single desk' is!!! We can now straddle the fence and swim in the pool at the same time!!!

    WARNING:

    DO -NOT-

    I repeat;

    DO -NOT-

Use the 200 percent EPO feed wheat pool for diving.

Extreme pain and suffereing will result after the Eskimo launches themselves off the fence into this pool...

-Warning- this feed wheat pool is only a mirage!!!

      Charlie,

There is a way to leave the pool if the Eskimo thinks the waters are too cold!

NOW for all folks who want to become Eskimos...

Did you know you are entitled to roll in PREVIOUS deliveries you MADE to the pool... to cover a new FPC you are just doing say Dec 3 2010 for instance?

      http://www.cwb.ca/public/en/forms/farmers/fpcbpc/10-11/1011fpc_signup_all.pdf

It has a "Optional" box to check off 'Apply my earlier pool deliveries'

Made especially for Eskimo grain growers!

I have not seen this option stated any where else but in this CWB printed form.

With apologies, I haven't been able to work through the mechanics of the
new CWB program with one of the FBR team. Other projects have priority at
the present time. Good questions though.

Maybe no one at the CWB has courage to merge the two programs into
one and just call it a daily cash price with hopefully some mechanism to
allow forward pricing over a 3 to 9 month delivery window. That might
involve something really radical like including carry into the new program
to pay interest and storage for further out delivery periods. The benefits
might include the CWB actually knowing what they have for sale 6 months
          from now.

            Charlie,

That would leave the decision in the 'designated area' growers farm yard... intead of at 423 Main.

NOW GO and Confess... these evil thoughts... YOU HAVE SINNED!!!

You must have got some Eskimo air in this recent cold snap CHARLIE!!!

              Charlie,

Did you see that the 'pool' must be freezing over... the CWB Election period closed on Friday!

              March 2011 basis... $36.07 over Dec 1;

              March 2011 basis... $31.81 over Dec 3.

I wonder how that happened... when the PNW is closing down to fix the locks on the river to Portland... (DNS 14px drying up) and ocean shipping costs drop daily!

The Eskimo air is causing brain freeze. No ideas other than noting what you say is true.
