          Wow! Good'un!

But on the other hand, here's what I heard - "Young people who think and vote Liberal have a soft heart.

Old people who think and vote Liberal have a soft head."

I have to agree with a previous thread that a conservative Minority Will Work,
ONLY IF HARPER IS GONE as leader.

That man cannot work with his own mps let alone the opposition

We have had minority govt under Pearson and Trudeau and some of our most important Canadian Bills
            were passed.
C.PP and Medicare and old age pension
            even the Flag.

Name one positive thing harper has done

Harper hasn't had a chance to govern. The cancer known as the opposition hasn't allowed him to. Its simple mustardman. Give him a majority or let the coalition run the country.

He is Bankrupting This Country with a minority... So We Would Turn into Greece with a Majority.

Look at the 1.1 BILLION he spent on a couple days for G8 and G20 conference. Wouldn't that Money look nice in the health system.

$13 billion to build Bigger and Better Prisons and how many billion to house them?

$30 Billion on untendered fighter jets

Mulroney SET a Record for $46 Billion Deficit , Stevie is already At $56 Billion. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

HE CAN'T MANAGE A TWO CAR PARADE

<i>”We have had minority govt under Pearson and Trudeau and some of our most important Canadian Bills were passed. C.PP and Medicare and old age pension”</i>

Oh yeah, all well thought out legislation.

CPP = Actuarially based on an ever increasing number of payers (a half dozen kids per family in perpetuity), and we were supposed to all die about 2 years after we started collecting. We all know how that turned out, therefore CPP is beyond broke.
Medicare = Same system as North Korea and Cuba. Great if you’re Jack Layton or Fidel Castro and can jump the que. The rest of us get to die on waiting lists. And no one is allowed to discuss the fixing in any way, of this sacred cow legislation, without facing a barrage of name calling. Pour in more money is the only allowed fix, or you’ll be accused of advocating “American style health care”.

Old Age Pension- Ok, as long as you have one of those fat government pensions supplementing it.

<i>”even the Flag.”</i> That sure helped the country, Quebec was eternally content after that. /sarcasm

Harper hasn’t totally caved in to the NDP like the Liberals did. However, he did implement the “stimulus spending” which the NDs and Liberals claimed <b>wasn’t enough</b> at the time. Now they give him flak for creating a deficit. Hypocrits.

                  NDP logic:
Not caving in to NDP demands = dictator

<i>"$30 Billion on untendered fighter jets"</i>

Wasn't that just following through on a deal the Liberals made while they were in power? Of course, Harper could have cancelled it and cost us a pile of cancellation fees like Chretien did, who then had to buy helicopters later anyway, at an even greater expense.

                      Mustardman,

Perhaps you do NOT forgive... will NEVER forget... and Love the CWB enough that a Conservative Majority is the last thing you would want... because you know the CWB would be in for a massive change.

                      Proof?

As I indicated on the 'Extortion' thread:

"We got our funding cut for the Expo, which in turn cut funding for the Mill Woods LRT. It's caused a huge ripple effect," Butler said."

To have a 'huge ripple effect' how much do you think the Expo cost would have been for the Edmonton, Alberta, and Canadian Governments?

$20Billion... perhaps for an Edmonton Expo? COuld we really afford to saddle our economy and grandchildren for this frothy frill? Truly... what 'productive' would have been created? THIS IS LIBERAL, Bloc, and ND Coalition spend and tax policy... for our future.

PMHarper did all Albertans and Canadians alike an absolute huge favour.... when he said NO. Edmonton's Mandel set a trap... the expo not at all properly costed...

Was a huge economic 'Black Hole'.

Sooo PM Harpers True colours came out... Conservative principals.

No Question PM Harper is the only Conservative in this federal election!

If you want to collect more and more... diminishing value... from our governments... use the 'Extortion' Coalition method of governance.

Iggy, 'Duce' plus Jack and Jill... will give you exactly what you accuse PM HARPER of... out of control spending.

Who exactly do you think PM Harper... had to get to approve our Federal Budgets since the Harper Minority started in 2006?

Take a look in the mirror... MUSTARD.

P.S. The Liberals should know the cost, it was the their deal.

"Ignatieff vows to re-examine fighter plane deal

Adam McDowell, nationalpost.com, Last Updated: Mar 28, 2011 10:51 PM ET

Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff promised Monday to re-examine a deal to buy the next-generation F-35 stealth fighter plane, but military experts say it would be pointless for a Liberal government to hold a “fly-off” competition to replace Canada’s deteriorating CF-18 fighter-bombers given that there is no alternative that would suit the Canadian Forces’ needs.

“We are going to replace the CF-18 — we care about the sovereignty of Canada. But we’ve got time to get this right. [The Conservatives] tried to hustle the country into a purchase without a competitive process,” Mr. Ignatieff said during a campaign stop at a downtown Toronto hotel. “We’ve got to deliver the right plane at the right price.”

The promise, however, puts Mr. Ignatieff at risk of reminding voters of the last time the Liberals played politics with military procurements. In 1994, Jean Chrétien’s Liberal government kept a campaign vow to scrap a deal to replace the ancient Sea King helicopter, leading to a prolonged and expensive wait for a successor. “The Liberals should be careful about scrapping airplanes. We’re still waiting for the helicopter that Chrétien scrapped,” said Jack Granatstein, a military historian and senior research fellow at the Canadian Defence and Foreign Affairs Institute.

Last July, the Conservative government announced its intention to buy 65 of the F-35s from manufacturer Lockheed Martin to replace the CF-18 fleet starting in 2016. The government claims the program will cost about $16-billion over 20 years, while the Parliamentary Budget Office published an estimate of $29.3-billion over 30 years this month. The opposition parties have criticized the deal because there was no competition, or “fly-off,” between different planes.

Through a request under the Access to Information Act, the National Post has obtained a copy of a June 2006, Department of National Defence document that confirms what has been stated by the Prime Minister, the Parliamentary Budget Office and others: That the department has identified the F-35 as the only suitable aircraft to serve as Canada’s next fighter-bomber. Among other advantages, it is the only fighter with radar-evading “stealth” capability on offer to traditional U.S. allies.

“When the Parliamentary Budget Office says that the F-35 is the only one that meets the Canadian stable of requirements, they’re bang on,” said Brian MacDonald, a retired Army colonel and senior defence analyst for the Conference of Defence Associations. “We could hold a request for proposals, but there’s nothing except [this one] aircraft that is satisfactory.” The question then becomes how the Liberals would stage a competitive bid process with only one contender. “Why hold a competition if you already know who the winner is?” Col. MacDonald asked.

Angus Watt, a retired Lieutenant-General and former head of the Air Force, said: “I’m not really against a competition, and politically it probably would have been easier if we’d held a competition. The problem was it’s kind of unethical to hold a competition when you know that really one aircraft … meets the needs [of the Air Force].” Mr. Ignatieff likened buying the F-35 without a competition to a family choosing the first car they spotted at the dealership. While proponents of fly-offs believe they secure the best deals, military experts insist this is not always the case. When there is only one contender for a job, standards must be lowered in order to open the field so a contest can be held, Lt.-Gen. Watt explained.

The example of the troubled Sea King replacement program demonstrates what can happen when military purchases are decided in the political arena, experts said. In 2002, the then-Liberal government announced a $3.1-billion deal to replace the Sea King maritime helicopter with the Sikorsky CH-148 Cyclone, an as-yet-unbuilt model now plagued with delays. Costs have now reached $5.7-billion for 28 helicopters. Ottawa has successfully squeezed hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of contract concessions from Sikorsky in compensation for delays with the project. Only testing versions, with incomplete software systems, have been delivered.

The Canadian Forces expect to begin receiving final versions of the Cyclone helicopter in June 2012, four years late and nearly 50 years after the Sea King entered service in 1963. Meanwhile, the Sea King continues to fly, and is part of Canada’s arsenal for the mission in Libya."

                            History... repeating itself!

Iggy believes We are sure slow learners out here!

Sad... he is most likely right... by some indications here on Agriville!!!
