If the ndp/liberals get office the economy is going in the shitter and they will blame harper for it.

If Harper hadn't gave in to the spending the liberals and ndp wanted a couple years ago for the auto industries, there would have been an election then instead of now.

Did I mind them spending, yes, but given the circumstances they had to control it somehow. If the ndp and liberals would have been in power it would have been disasterous. I just wish the ndp and liberals would stand up and say they requested all the spending. They would go a long way to changing the tune on the economy and the election.

To his credit, even iggy has admitted that tax rates are competetive, but he wants to make it worse. Companies need money to continuing hiring, pensions etc.

The changes the conservatives made even helped us buy boats. Puke and double puke. But in the larger scheme of things it is probably helping all companies.

As far as crime, how can any government be taken seriously when the crimes they have committed are never found to be punishible. Like the liberal adscam. Mulroney and that german fellow etc.

      I really don't like Iggy.
Would he do anything (Coalition) to gain power knowing if he loses he is gone?
      Seems obvious to me.

Harper thinks the contempt of parliment findings against him is not an election issue. Just read a facebook poll and 6900 people says it is an issue and 850 says it is not.

Well there you go, if you read it on Facebook it must be a real issue!

Of course it is restricted to only Canadians so no outside sources could influence the outcome? Yeah, a real issue. Any idiot can start these and all idiots are free to follow it also. Believing it is an issue, thats for you to decide I suppose.

I wonder what percentage of Facebook users are under 25, almost all of whom haven't lived long enough to know better than to be liberals?

I remember a saying I heard years ago:

If you're young and not a socialist, you have no
heart. If you're older and still a socialist, you
                    have no brains.

First of all to all of you who think Paul Martin is such a hero, remember the Tory's set him up for success by bringing in the not so popular GST, which cost them privilege, to govern. It was this tax win fall that allowed him to get us to surplus. I will give him credit for the cuts he made to finish the Job.

Newguy, Harper is the wrong guy to have in a Minority... Why then does he have the longest surviving minority in Canadian history? Sure some of his tactics were a little iffy, but he has got the job done. Although I don't like everything he has done, I do think he deserves a Majority.

To those of you that think Harper is trying to be a dictator but cutting party funding. If the other Parties would get off their ass and go out and fundraise they wouldn’t have a problem. No rather they think they are entitled to collect money from the taxpayers. Is it not a huge waste of money to give the greens money when they will never be in government? This policy just encourages more parties, which means more minorities and more spatting and less work actually getting done. One of the first things that should happen in a Harper Majority is cut that funding.

                            Gilles Duceppe said:
</i>”I do remember my meeting with Mr. Harper in 2004. He definitely talked about a coalition,"</i>

Harpers explanation sounds a little different:
<i>"Had the governor general asked me, my position would have been . . . very simply that there is not an issue of confidence here, we are not trying to bring the government down, these are small matters and we think we can work a compromise. And, by the way, that's exactly what we did."</i>

Of course we aren't supposed to take Harper’s word over the word of a separatist who's not so hidden agenda is to extract as much out of Canada as he can, before breaking up the country. It would be beyond irony if this same Separatist held a cabinet position in any coalition government.
The Conservatives were vilified for years by the Liberals and their friends in the media because of some elusive “hidden agenda” that never materialized, and only existed in the minds of those fearful of losing power and perks. When faced with the LiBloNDs not outright denying, but trying to deflect criticism away from this coalition of losers, we’re now only hearing crickets.

By the way, the coalition agreement is still in effect until June 2011. No wonder the Liberals were in a hurry to get their non-confidence motion passed. Anyone want to give odds on whether that document gets the dust blown off of it in the event of another minority?

Avoiding the coalition question might have allowed Mr. Ignatieff not to tell an outright lie, but his dancing around giving an answer makes it look very much like he intends to try to seize power this way. Besides, I’m not sure why he didn’t just deny outright any coalition plans, it wouldn’t have been the first time the Liberals campaigned saying one thing while intending to do exactly the opposite after the election (Trudeau’s wage and price controls, Chretien’s repealing the GST).

HFL, mustard was responding to my post. Turnabout is fair play.

Fortunately we are still a free enough that we are entitled to publicly express differing opinions. Unfortunately, that freedom usually decreases in direct proportion to how much power Socialists have in a country.
