Musterdman if you wont to keep the cwb why you are not telling the board to put a NEW BOARD marketing plan forward.

        Mustardman:

You've stated the obvious - we all know you want
to keep it the way it is.

The question is why do you think you should be
able to tell someone else how to market his
        wheat?

Even more specific, why should you be able to tell southpaw who they can sell to?

Cuz apparently the conservative government believes in enabling rights and freedoms and that is what pisses you off. This has nothing to do with wheat or marketing or the CWB, does it musturdman?

Mustard, do you believe that those five crops you grow under the open market system under perform in the marketplace compared to he CWB grains that you grow? Or is it that your complacent knowing that know one else can get a better price than you on their board grains?

This thread wasn't intented to create a mudslinging match but to ask serious questions. As a followup to my original post, I would further ask the question. We seem to have some rules as to who automatically gets a ballot but we also seem to have a large numbers of ballots( 30%) sent out that would seem at the discretion of the CWB. Without rules or guidelines there is nothing to keep the board from sending ballots both east and to older farmers who they know represent their power base. What's most disturbing is that this is the same group who portrays themselves as defenders of democracy. On top of that we have no idea of the 48000 permit holders what percentage are actual farmers as compared to interested parties. The plebisite will tell us what we already know. Wheat board supporters support the wheat board.

Since the question always come down to why should you be able to tell me how to market my grain? Would all the con supporters out there please tell me why supply manged marketing boards for dairy and poulry get a free pass on the freedom argument? If you are going to use the freedom argument then you should be telling Ritz that supply management needs freedom too.

Do you think there are the same number of people looking to get into supply managed production as there are grain farmers looking for the FREEDOM to sell their grain to whomever they want chuckles?

It's been said before, we'll start with the wheat board to level the playing field across canada, then we'll look at the supply mgmt. sector. Deal?

Chuckchuck, because its a good deal for the ones involved and they want it. This is not true with the CWB, no demonstratable advantage can be shown.

Re supply management...it can only work with a closed domestic market (no imports and accordingly very limited opportunity for exports). Beyond that you need compliant masses that are willing to have their right to participate in certain industries revoked by legislation (and force of arms if necessary). We're not going there with grain. HT

News Flash There are more important Farm issues than the cwb. Unfortunately this narrow minded government can See Nothing Else

hiwayman the open market crops perform like the market dictates. 2/3 are sold at the bottom 1/3 of the market which is on par

Sell your peas off the combine for 8.50 or if you've got enough space keep till jan and it will be 10.50

My durum nets out better than my other crop except my large green lentils.
The lentils are one crop due to demand right now that makes selling immediately tempting

Sorry mus, but I'm through living with a wheat board that puts farmers who sell their own wheat in jail and gets us sub par returns year after year.

wd9 Not evading I'm actually harvesting, anyways Southpaw you can haul your grain to whomever you want to and sell it however you want with the multitude of ways thru the cwb

Southpaw I'm assuming you won't support me in changing the open market on lentils to a single desk. So you are ineffect telling me how to market my lentils thru the open market.

Where I can pick a price that is offered from company A,b or c. They then inflate the price and resell to someone else and Keep the profits
