    Why I'm Not On Much....

I'm in Edmonton right now At The Rig Shop, Ltd.

We're almost done building one of the world's most
    advanced drilling rigs.

This is a super-single, capable of drilling 4,000
meters, fully automated, fast to move, fast to drill
with... makes my motorhand job easy

    I'll get more pics later...

I'm disappointed. I thought there at least would be a reflection of a knife next to the rig in the spill pond!!!! Big (SIGH)

Hi Klause, is that a top drive conventional or a coil rig?
It looks like some kind of hybrid from a distance.
Doesn't look big enough to handle 4000 meters of
stem or casing. Is it quiet and clean?

These rigs are top drive conventionals. No coil injectors. The company has been slowly retrofitting and refurbishing their doing nothing coil fleet, to these units. They are split 3 ways from the substructure, drawworks, and derrick for weight restrictions as necessary. Fully automated with iron roughnecks, hydraulic catwalks etc. They are AC electric driven. Small fast moving rigs capable of big pulling. Ideally suited to shallow horizontal work in environmentally sensitive areas. Have a great winter Klause!

This is actually an upgraded version of all the
buildings from Trailblazer's hybrid coil rigs.... The
                        carrier/rig itself is all-new....

The rig is a FDS Topdrive rig.... Super Single.

450HP Detroit 60 series floor motor, 400HP Detroit
60 series light plant, 2x 750HP DetroitMTU engines
                        run two 1000 series pumps.

There are no tongs, no manual slips, and no manual
elevators on it... everything is hydraulic, you
basically stand there and flip levers, no manual
                        labour while drilling.

I got a few days off now. The rig is ready to rock
                        and roll on Monday
