Similar to when I said Newtie was a hottie and a
couple of people thought it was for real. That was
    deliciously humorous. LOL. Pars.

Sumdumguy: Not much hair to blow around here and have to plug one ear so the wind doesn't whistle through!! Doing things in the house today that I started and didn't finish. Remember I posted earlier that I hate wind and the sound it makes, needless to say an irritating day for this guy. AND it had been a windier than usual spring here, BLAH!!!

silverback, thats the best belly laugh i had this year. sarcasm rules.

in scotland we have contract farmers who dont even own the crop they are growing. they have huge kit, overdrafts to match, and a short life expectancy in business.

880-farming is an act of insanity.

Around here, the series farmers start negotiating
on fertilizer in August, before they have even
started harvesting. I am not sure how it all works
out, but if you borrow to buy, and low interest a
person can still buy for less than the increased
price under the chute in May.

We usually buy in august too, but this year it didnt
drop. Bought in feb for what looks like a steal now

Wow 88 cents per lb n at 80 lbs per acre is 70.4 dollars per acre. Then I heard someone wanted to try 200 lbs per acre of 11 51 to see if it works as good as pig shit. That 11 51 is worth 73 dollars per acre. Easy come easy go.

October was a better buy yet, fall applied all our N S ready to seed with Phos booked in Nov. Still over $50/ acre.
Comment on our "small" pluses, NO hired help, fewer decision makers, work with wife, No accountants, No tax preparers, way less costs per acre for machinery, IE nothing new.IMHO

Just don't subtract the wife fjlip! Mind you Sask3 would still have more than 16 if he subtracted wife.

hopper its one of our experiment fields.
                          40 acres vs pig shit.
Also have a few smaller trials.

Don't need any N with lentils. High fertilizer costs
entice growers to plant pulses. Good!
