It's official Hutterites coming to Norquay

Word out on week end Hutterite colony from
Walsh Alberta has done the deal for Hudye Farms
at Norquay. Everything but the fertilizer business
Will be something never experienced in that area
before having a colony in the hood

Huyde farms. What ever happened with that court case against the cwb?

Hutterites (the big fish) eating up Huyde (a slightly smaller fish)

I have Muskoday First Nation within 7 miles of my place now. I believe it is Earth One farming it cause they are looking for a farm manager in the Humboldt area.

Chinese, or Hutterites, or "One Earth Farms", etc.?
Do you see the writing on the wall yet?
Personally I pick the Hutterites! At least they actually live on the land and care about it?
              The others.....maybe not so much?

No One of ny good friends is a farm boss, but I do know that one colony in an area very seldom doesn't lead to more it's the nature of the model.

Just had a colony move about 20 miles from us.
Bought through a front man (non hutterite) not
sure why but thats the way it went down they paid
about 40 percent more than where the market
                      was.

I believe we were one of the last areas where land
was a good value in mb, glad we bought what we
did when we did time to sit back fora bit now.
When we see guys like hudye selling i think it
should say something about land prices. But who
knows it may double again too. Land has trippled
in value in our area now from 2005.

I think it says something about farming in general when outfits like Hudye's are selling out. The risk for reward is going to get way out of whack in this business. There will be many many more sellouts like this in the not too distant future.

Ya done deal, seen press release. Never ever a better time to sell in history. Ben - good timeing. He knows nothing goes up that fast can last. Long term - no doubt trend up but things have gone way too far too fast, U.S. housing market JMO. Current land price and rents can not sustain themselves - one little sneeze in Europe and all hall will break loose(08?). Hutterites are way more long term than any family farm, family corp or invester group - complete different ball game, like it or not. Bolth sides good deal IMO. There is no money at $80-100/ac rent or $250-300k per 1/4. We live in Sask not Iowa, look at a GDD map.
