Saskatchewan canola crop won't be a bumper!

Seems a old once in a blue moon problem is
showing up in east sask. Leafhoppers early in
spring blew up here from USA on all those winds.
They then effect a perfect healthy plant and you
    get aster yellows.
Yield loss on early canola looks 35 to 45 percent.
Yea it's going to be a bumper.
Google aster yellow canola. Lots of info.
Our canola is dropped to a 6 from 8.

Nothing we could do. It's a big area that's
    effected.

Yep and when do you think the rocket scientists that trade will notice.

I have been watching fields that have the inputs to grow a 50 bu crop drown out, get aster yellows, stop flowering due to heat and everyone keeps saying this is a large crop. Bullshit.

Our fertilizer that went in should have given a 60
but yes flood, heat, aster yellow, and it will be
        lucky to hit 25.
Specs and bs from the experts, keep the world
        going round and round.

Aster yellows and pod blast, looks like going to be below average. Time will tell but I thing the basis will be narrowing in the future.

The trade will wait and hope for a bumper crop till 2013. Charts are taking elevator down now. Why pay more, enough farmers have to sell even a poor crop.
Another torrential 1" flood today on top of the mud and sloughs.
            Harvest could be a nightmare.

hailed would be ok now. Miss the wheat.
Flowering in 30 plus not good no matter how nice
              you think it is.

Bucket, our crop has little to do with
                actual trade.

Just had another 1.5" in 10 minutes with 100KPH wind and lots of penny size hail... getting closer to zero bu every storm.
                  Water unreal!
Never seen such fury in all my years.

I recall the Manitoba Canola Growers AGM in Brandon in March, where I met a bunch of young farmers from Saskatchewan who told me that farming was up, up and away with no looking back and no need of fear. Honestly.
(I knew it was complete, unadulterated BS, but I just had to share)

SF3 what clouds were over you! Regina North
was just black. 30 degree days and SE wind
means get ready. How much rain did you get?
We heard a tornado touched down on Number
one highway at Balgonie. No details available?

Environment Canada shows 30 degrees by
                            weekend again.

In about 1992 (hope my memory is correct) we
were harvesting Lentils, 100 degrees, fire trucks
following combines. My son and I had to goto
Yorkton for a couple of days, Came back to
frozen crops, Augst 18. Lentils in swath
                            downgraded badly. Standing, totally fried.

The joys of farming. This year full moon is August
31? but that hasn't mean't anything last few
                            years.

                              MarshDillon I have probably seeded
canola for more years than you. Yellow
aster their is Sweet F*$k all you can
do. Leaf hoppers are the problem and if
you could spray every day for two weeks
you might get them but then you might
                              not.
Big storm all the way north, Ugly,
looked like nothing was coming then it
hit and did it hit. 2 inches in less
than 30 minuets. Water every fricking
                              place.
Hope today we miss the storms.
