Thinking of a use for some of the farmer money
in WGRF endowment fund. Would tests like this
be of use to your farm? Sort of a Nebraska
tractor test for crop inputs.
Some of us are always looking at how to better
farm. Weather that's new technology or better
uses of existing tech.
Some things that are brought to market, are pretty
shaky science some is great science, that is
brought to market by "small" companies.
This would not be a government program for
registration but more of an independent tester.
WGRF (farmer)money is private money.
A reason I thought of WGRF was because I feel it
needs a new role to compliment varietal
development, and it needs to build profile. As well
it's tougher leveraging govt dollars when farmers
are sitting on this war chest.
Looking for comments good, bad or indifferent
before I take it to the executive committee and
then board as a whole.
First question. Is there a private company out
there doing this already? I'm not talking about
walking fields. I envision more of a testing leading
to extension role.
Thanks for your comments.
