SF3, great you have lots of stuff. Now
start using it and do a proper trial.
USe your GPS and replicate 3 reps of
each variety. Same treatment on flat and
average land. Do plant counts, lodging,
disease resistance, and yield and even
oil. You can't tell squat without doing
    it properly.

Furrow, What were your yields for L130,
    S52, 7345, 7444, and H29 or whatever you
sell (allegedly) for pioneer? Not a lot
of typing. You typed half a page with
any data, this isn't a big request. Not
3 years of data, this year.

    ESN.

We had rain every 2 days, would have
been the perfect year for esn. 70% esn
30% pure urea compared with pure urea.
    Rest of blend identical.

7 replications weighed and sampled and
moisture tested carefully. In the end,
    non esn a 2 (1.9375) bushel advantage
    and protein.... Wait for it....
identical in each rep at 13.1

ESN, didn't work, at least this year.
Will try again next year but it should
have showed some advantage this year if
    ever given the constant rain.

Wd9 what is there left to find out? We've punished
our combines too much already. To seed it again
would be like making another run at a brick wall
and hoping this time it will be different.

What did you punish your combine on?

The L150 gave us major issues swathing and
combining. The crop was 6' tall and fell over so
we had to swath it really low which meant we
swathed at 2miles per hour and combined at the
same speed. Lots of piles and plugging. We wore
          out a slip clutch,broke 3roller chains and a drive
shaft on the header. The 5440 which yielded
higher was a foot shorter and so we could swath
at 6 mph and combine almost as fast. Even if they
yielded the same we will never grow L150 again.

Ahh the power of a plot. I had 447 yards
of the stuff. Was like harvesting trees
last fall compared to the other
varieites. Stone trap was smacking and
            yes it sucked.

Result, don't grow any. 447 yards proof
enough. Yielded better than 130, but oh
            what a cost.

This year was better but still
            noticeable.

            I agree with you 100%

Are you sure the yield didn't come from all the dirt going into the grain tank? One hired man was joking about the other hired man using the swather as a bulldozer. Seems to me a data base of some sort would be much cheaper and provide much more info than just talking to neighbours. Why do I seem to be pissing off the seed growers with this idea to bring back something we had. Now who was running it? Why did it fail?
