Remember Oats Knows, Well maybe its China Knows!

A high quality, high protein Prairie
wheat crop this year is expected to
translate into increased export sales to
    China, according to an industry
participant, says a story from Syngenta
    Farm.
    “There has definitely been good
interest from China for Canadian wheat
so far this crop year," confirmed
Darrell Bushuk, CWB director of trade
    for Asia.
The interest from China reflects the
abundant supply of wheat harvested in
Canada and the fact that over 70% of the
crop harvested consisted of No.1 and
    No.2 quality
What I am saying is China is a smart
purchaser, they have info on whats
happening all over the globe. And its
not BS like our guys tell us. China
knows that Australia has frost damage to
their wheat, China knew that Russia and
Ukraine had lots of problems with their
crops this year. China knew we would
have a smaller wheat crop but with nice
hot fall that quality would be great. Thank god we don't have the CWB or else
they would have sold china all this
years crop in July for a huge discount.
Yes CWB in past would have looked at the
US winter wheat acreage and then at the
huge Canadian crop Wink Wink. And said
F*&k it its a big crop lets blower out
for 6 and let the farmers get some
    needed cash.
Well at least their gone and those days
    are behind us.
Its a long time till the harvesters are
    going in the USA, May!
So if you missed the nice prices on HRS
    they may be back.
Also on Soy the world is counting on SA
to produce the largest crop ever. Thats
like saying Canada will be top at the Olympics in 2016. Dr. Cormier is
already saying it would have to be a
perfect storm to achieve that. So I
think things are going to get
    interesting.
Canola acreage will be down in 2013 just
because guys are pst at the crop and new
varieties. Soy is going to increase in
Manitoba and East Sask. So HRS acreage
will take some but if Durum has any legs
under it it might grab some acreage.

I think china has already bought at pretty attractive levels. read cheap.

And they have come in for quite alot already.

I just wish Canada had a system like the US where large sales have to be reported at the end of the day and all others by weeks end.

Subject: Reporting grain sales over 100,000 MT

I’ve been on this kick for about 2 years to no avail.

The USDA instituted the reporting of grain sales larger than 100K after the Great Grain Robbery in the early 70’s.

Ritz did not respond to a couple emails regarding this.

      We need the transparency.

If I started an on-line petition would you present it as a Private Member’s Bill?

      Best,
      Larry

Private Exporters Report Sales Activity for China
      WASHINGTON, 5/16/2012
WASHINGTON, May 16, 2012 -- Private exporters reported to the U.S. Department of Agriculture export sales of 900,000 metric tons of corn for delivery to China. Of the total, 180,000 tons is for delivery during the 2011/2012 marketing year and 720,000 tons is for delivery during the 2012/2013 marketing year. Note that all of the 2011/2012 sales and 480,000 tons of the 2012/2013 sales were previously reported as unknown destinations.

I am in Ottawa in November and this is one item on my agenda. Grain Commission would have to get onside. The reporting mechanism is there now albeit monthly; however, they are on a cost recovery kick.

STATSCAN does not have the resources to print a hardcopy of the Field Crop Reporting Series any longer, so not much hope there.

All it takes is a OIC to get it done.

Chick pea robbery. A few years back Australia
had big, flooding, downpours in the desi chickpea
growing area. JK had some rather large contracts
with AWB who had to pay off or buy out of those
contracts ( obvious huge profit as they buyout
price would have bee much higher). After the
quick, and large cash pay out JK covered their
needs and purchased cheap Canadian desi at
way below world values as the information
            transfer was slow to nonexistent.
