    Sandy

Anybody else see a logistical nightmare shaping up to
    fix new york and area.

Seems like a scary situation to me,millions of people
on an island with depleted resources and only a
trickle coming in,broken but critical infrastructure.

As of last night they had 15 feet of water pumped out of the subway system, still have another 25 to go. Dear Lord!!!!

Going to be a long haul for the people.

New Yorkers are a resilient bunch and nothing
brings them together like shared misery. And they
have a massive workforce providing infrastructure
operation and maintenance. Add in the wealth of
the area and the fact that the recession pretty well
missed them I think they'll make out fine. It won't
be overnight but I'm sure they'll surprise a lot of
      people.
New Jersey on the other hand is a basket case with
the highest unemployment rate of any US State. At
least there are many bodies available to help with
      the rebuild.

A NJ city turned away out of state help because
        they were Non Union workers!

Cant really figure out how bad things are,so many
          conflicting reports.

          Marshall law has been announced(supposedly),which
didn't happen during katrina, some are saying their
are bodies all over and the situation is critical then
others say everything is not to bad.

That area probably needs 100 semis a day loaded
with toilet paper, and thats just toilet paper.
