Further to Liberty's comment on subsidies and entitlements. I run into people all the time who won't even admit that they're getting subsidies. Seems like the first rule of supply management is to deny that its a subsidy. Then there's this guy I know who's getting a monthly welfare check that he calls his "pension".

That's okay, I get three pensions and call them my pay checks...pay for putting up with wasteful governments who blow billions on bullshit projects and corrupt businesses who suck off the taxpayer's dollars all the time.

If the gov't over the last 60 years had FOLLOWED his principles the U.S would not have overthrown the sha of Iran,assasinated the elected leader of Chile, been in Korea, been in Vietnam,would not have trained BIN laded, Probably wouldn't have been attacked on 911, so no Afghanistan, no Iraq .
The US would NOT have troops on 700 BASES in 130 COUNTRIES around the world. And not have THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX that COSTS more than the next 17 countries defences COMBINED

Ron Paul is right on when he says there is BLOW Back when you stick your nose in other peoples business. The attack on 911 didn't come because we are rich and free.

Further to Mustardman's comments, despite the liberal establishment's alleged preference for peace, they typically go along with intervention in places like Libya, Egypt and now Syria not to fight terrorism or dictatorships, but because they confuse democracy with freedom. They fervently believe that once the citizens of a country can vote, they will instantly be free! Often, however, they will vote themselves into a dictatorship or a socialist workers paradise, which pretty much negates the intention of the original intervention.

I think the voters unwittingly voted for the Debt ceiling increase when they voted Obama back in. Obama's gov't will be happy cause they will now get an extra 6 week holiday when they get shut down. Hopefully that happens very soon like before I need to pay for my new 5th wheel trailer.

My guess on the currency is that ours should be
going up but maybe only marginally because we have
our own problems coming down the pipe.

One thing i believe is that all major currencies will
continue to be flushed down the toilet just like what
has been happening over the last decade.

For one currency to go down another one has to go up so all major currencies cannot go down all at once. Which I suppose is why the American dollar index is holding its ground. The Chinese only listen to import terriff threats yet no one likes to threaten the Chinese.
