    D3153 45H31

Any experience with comparisons of these varieties? Duponts got a shit load of programs through the coop probably put the price at the same as 45h31 not sure yet. But some deadlines coming up on early buyer discount. Anything bad to say about 34h31 I never grew it but neighbours all like it. D3153 just got a pesty dupont rep bugging the hell out of me so any experience with this variety would be appreciated.

I hear 45h29 yields a bushel more even though we supposedly do not have clubroot. Any experience with 45s54 slerotinia trait?

At the end of the day you are going to be better with the h31 than the 3153. In our area, was a little 3153 and it wasn't even comparable to the pioneer stuff. h29 and at times be a little harder the chew. Yield wise h29 may have a slight edge but nothing significant. h31 stands up really, really well and is easy to handle all the way through. s54 is a good variety and yeild is very comparable to 29 and 31, doesn't stand the greatest though so wouldn't put it on a whole pile of acres.

Partners not sure maybe the Dupont rep is targetting me to purchase this stuff, if you want it maybe keep in contact with your coop as when I give notice tomorrow of not taking my 2000 acres you could maybe snap it up not sure but the coop here does hold supply for me sometimes usually fertilizer as I am purchasing a lot from the coop these days. Was going to let the responses on this site make my decision. Thanks a lot to happyfarmer so far for his input. Also getting a price on the H and S varieties just tonight so I can compare price and decide. I want RR for ease of weed controle and price. And in fact I can fly 2 to Hawaii on my air miles that I will get from purchasing the 45H varieties. Gotta look at that also just found out, now have to see if coop can take visa.

TUA is now 168 per bag in which if you plant at 5 lbs works out to 17.40 per acre. Seems a little trick to sell seed for less per lb then tac on extra for tua. I thought I could buy for 7 dollar per lb but at a 15 dollar tua. The 17.40 changes everthing. Just something was not prepared for so may be open to liberty now. arrg. Oh well plenty of time to think. What is the price of Glypho these days last I heard FNA was selling for 3.35 and saying price is going up. Last time I bought was 2.75 for liter equiv.

Maybe my bad cause that amount of tua was supposedly on there last year already.

Grew H31 and 45S52. The h31 did better and was very happy with it. Had pioneer salesman here today and at 11.00 a pound for some of this seed makes you wounder how much you can afford.

Your probably net after you spray it still cheaper
with the rr. Something has to change these seed
prices and unfortunately the only thing that will are
                  lower grain prices.

I think it really depends what area you
farm in. I know in my area SE Sask D3153
was one of the strongest varieties. Stood
well and yielded well. H29 had a good year
too stronger then H31. 53 was at least on
par with H29 if not a bit ahead. Stood
better and swathed nicer. We were happy
with it. Hope our experience helps.
