'Diesel Power' uses 1,000-horse GMC to haul trailer
A team of diesel truck enthusiasts recently set a new 228 km/h land speed record — while towing a trailer.

The group, made up of experts from Diesel Power magazine, used a GMC Sierra 2500 HD – tuned to more than 1,000 horsepower and equipped with a two-stage nitrous kit – for the record attempt.

Their payload? A Kalispell travel trailer, stock save for the rated-for-high-speed rubber they wrapped around the wheels.

Diesel Power headed out to the dry lake beds of El Mirage, in California, for the record attempt; the double-shot of nitrous helped them top 228.5 km/h (141.99 mph) across the sands. The existing record was 222.2 km/h (139.11 mph).

They say it enough times in the video, and, really, it goes without saying, but don't try this at home. Just watch the video below instead.
