CWB vs THE FACTS on Deliveries

    Dear Charlie,
THe CWB certainly tried a spin on us Western Canadian sales. Interesting article on DTN:

DTN Cliff Jamieson (Canadian Grains Analyst) Monday 11/12/12

A Look at Year-to-Date Producer Wheat Deliveries

Cliff as well caught the CWB statements about lack of Canadian prairie grain producer sales.

    The conclusion:

"On a tonnage basis, 2012/13 year-to-date deliveries into the system, at 4.883 mmt, represent a 563,900 (13.1%) increase over 2011/12 and an 849,000 mt (21%) increase over the three-year average."

The CWB had best learn a new way to find deliveries... because the fear, deception, and bully tactics have grown boring for the vast majority of us who could sell them grain.

I will be VERY surprised if the CWB does not contract more grain in 2012-13... there should be a spring pool. If there isn't... these folks at 423 Main need a new water supply.

I wonder just how many tonnes have been extracted using these tactics this year?

    ANyone venture a guess???

If 17mmt Wht/Durum/Bly exports in 2012-13... then actual CWB Nov 9 signed up grain: less than 2mmt... and closer to 1mmt.

Should we start a CWB pool? I am in at 1.3mmt.

Formerly known as the Canadian Wheat Board - CWB is fighting an uphill battle in trying to get producers to contract grain in its new open market pools.

"With cash prices where they're at, there is not a whole lot of incentive to be putting things into a pool this year," says Brian Voth, Market Coach with Agri-Trend Marketing. "In our own network, out of roughly 115 clients, we've had two farms put anything towards the pool. It was a total of 600 tonnes. So participation on our end is very low."

Voth says about half of their clients' spring wheat is already sold, with nearly all the winter wheat committed.

By selling into the cash market, producers are receiving full payment up front.
