errol, what were the crush margins the past couple of years? Did they not make an absolute fortune for quite a while? What are they now? Are they loosing money right now? What has been their average the past 3-4 years. I am sure they are doing just fine - don't kid yourself...
Yes we need the crushers, but they need our product more. Nobody cared from their end when we were getting only $5-6/bus - opperating at a loss. As well they could care less that alot of guys produced well below 20 bus canola crops this year - some in the red ink.
Sometime it sucks to be on the negative side of things - but we all have been there - except for wage earners who don't rely on farm income.
Is $12 canola enough? Maybe , if wheat falls below 7 it will be.

Just curious with all the whining and snivelling here, what you would have the market do differently today? For those who didn't answer the question, what this the difference in the oil/meal content for soybeans versus canola? Which one is hot and which is cold? Which one has more downside risk? What are crush margins and basis levels doing? From a market side, what is happening to volume and open interest? Why?

Soybeans up 8% since mid Nov. Meal up 6%. Bean oil up 7.7% Canola up 4%. Canola futures have no carry. Cash basis for canola enhances the inverse in the futures. Beans nor meal have any carry. Bean oil does.

        What does that say?

If the public ever figures out how bad vegetable oil is
for you we may end up with a demand problem, but
          that will never happen.

Unsaturated fat is about the worst thing you can put
              in your body.

              Eggs,milk,steak,bacon,butter and all the saturated
fats have almost a completely opposite molecular
structure and to think they are unhealthily,is a level of
              ignorance i can't understand.

Cockroaches eat axle grease but they don't eat
              margarine.

Sure cotton, all the nutritionists are wrong.

The "documentary" that you saw by the professor Doofenshmurtz charitable foundation tells it exactly like it is though, I'm sure.

                heh

Geez cotton, i really don't know what to
say. Most of the people with that mindset
have unfortunately died of coronary heart
disease already so I've forgotten most of
                  my speaking points.

Reduce your intake in fats in general but
                  especially saturated fats. Live long
enough to enjoy all those riches you've
been trying so hard to gather.

                    Are you guys for real?

There is a huge number of nutritionalists and
bodies of evidence that say cholesterol is not bad
for you and natural animal fats and tropical
oils, palm and coconut are far better for you than
manufactured products,I suggest you do your own
                    research.

While your at it look into real reason we have so
many fat bastards walking around and keeling
over-over consumption of carbs, which fuels our
bodies and excess is converted to body fat,but all
the brain dead people count calories instead of
carbs and never even heard of what a ketone
is,gee dog I followed my 150gram a day carb diet
but am still fat what gives, not sure son I never had
to take nutrition in med school so just keep at it.

Veg oils are not manufactured products.
                        Tin foil hats are however.

Saturated fatty acids are a major risk
factor for heart attacks and strokes.
Diets high in saturated fatty acids
                        increase the production of acetate
fragments in the body which, in turn,
leads to an increase in the production
                        of cholesterol. When consumed, saturated
fats tend to clump together and form
deposits in the body, along with protein
and cholesterol. They get lodged in
blood cells and organs, leading to many
                        health problems, including obesity,
heart diseases, and cancers of the
breast and colon. The build-up in the
arteries can cause a narrowing of the
                        arteries, called atherosclerosis, which
consequently can lead to major heart
                        problems.

The saturated fat that is consumed are
put into storage cells called adipose
cells. These storage cells can hold up
to 1,000 times its own size, therefore
it is used to store up a large amount of
fats. Saturated fats, which are flat,
build up easily in these cells causing
obesity. A host of other health problems
                        typically accompanies obesity in those
consuming a diet rich in saturated fatty
                        acids.

Saturated fats have been shown to
                        improve liver health, promote healthy
                        lungs, promote healthy brain
                        functioning, positively influence proper
                        nerve signaling, improve bone strength,
and support the body's immune system.

                        However, unsaturated fats also
accomplish many of these benefits in the
body with less harmful side effects. A
                        diet void of fat should be avoided;
however, smart diet decisions should be
                        made instead.

Right, thats why the inuit and all hunter gather tribes
across the world(in the 100's) with low carb ,super
huge saturated fat diets are not experiencing what we
                          are.

The demon is carbs, which is a sugar, which is
energy, which is if not used is converted to fat, which
is normal, like a bear getting ready for winter, but
when the there is no winter and the bear gets fatter
and fatter and never turns the body fat into energy
through ketosis then the system implodes.

I'm not making this up this is how it is.

Carbs are the fuel that run your body period, unless
there are non in which case it goes to fat.

                          Cancer isa nutrient deficient disease.

The cure to scurvy was recorded a 100 years before it
was used at the cost of hundreds of thousands of
                          lives because people where clueless.

Keep cutting and pasting though,i do love the kill.

Hey Cotton. Your are dead on i am living what
you talk about regulating carb intake and
enjoying simple wholesome meals with plenty of
saturated fats and definately never counting
calories. I am 60 years old went from 280lbs to
225 two years ago by doing this and feel and act
like I was 30 again and moderately exercise for
about 30 minutes 2 to 3 times per week. All I can
                            say is Grok on.

Basically he suggests proper diet, and immunity is the key to health and longevity.
He is not a fan of animal based food, saturated fats.
Fresh and raw is best, you can never eat too many fruits and vegetables.
