If the integrity of your sample is maintained and the proper dockage procedures, as it is laid out in the Grain Grading Guide is followed, the dockage will be the same every where. Equipment is accurate to /-.1%. If used right.
It is up to producer to make sure they are following the guide and assessing it right, using the proper equipment and sieves in the proper manor and assessing hand pick accurately for the grade.
Dockage doesn't change, only the way it is assessed. Know your product and how to assess it.
I have said before. I took 1 sample to 11 elevators, not one did the dockage right, not one did hand pick right, not one maintained or assessed on an accurate, representative sample.

Cotton You bring up a good point:
Do you do the same thing when cashing your check at the bank? Selling your gold bars or turning in your stocks and bonds?
Do you cringe and hang your head when the don't give you full value?
Or do you stand there and make sure they are counting it right and check them up when they don't?
My grain is my pay check and they are going to assess it right or I will make them redo it the right way. Wether it is dockage assessment or midge damage or fus damage etc.
Why is grain any different than a pay check or stock value?
