Glencore Receives Approval from China on Viterra Acquisition.

    Glencore News Release

BAAR, Switzerland, Dec. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - Glencore International plc ("Glencore") announced that on December 7, 2012 it received notice from the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China ("MOFCOM") that its acquisition of Viterra Inc. ("Viterra") has been approved.
This was the final outstanding regulatory approval of Glencore's acquisition of Viterra pursuant to a court approved plan of arrangement (the "Arrangement"). Glencore now expects the effective date of the Arrangement to be Monday, December 17, 2012, as a result of Viterra and Glencore having agreed to extend the date for completion of the Arrangement. On the effective date of the Arrangement, Glencore will release the funds to be subsequently paid out to shareholders and holders of Viterra's CHESS Depositary Interests (CDIs). The necessary arrangements will also be made to delist Viterra from the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Australian Securities Exchange.
Further to Glencore's July 20, 2012 press release, it confirms that upon closing of the Arrangement the amendments to Viterra's 5.950% Senior Notes due 2020 shall be implemented and consent fee payments to consenting noteholders made shortly thereafter.

Yes, and on the same day Canada approves the
CNOOC approval for the takeover of Nexen.
Coincidence, I think not. I believe I made this
statement 2 or 3 months ago. But I have no idea if this
is all good or bad. One likely outcome is that the
Northern Gateway Pipeline will happen and with
extreme prejudice. Whether the Chinese buy out
opposition or it is forced by Ottawa, it will happen. I
have no idea nor opinion on whether this is all good or
      bad, just an observation.

It is funny how the head line in today's paper,
Nexon deal approved. And yesterday glen core is
          approved.
Gateway will be built. We will ship our resources
          out till their all gone!
Money will be made. But how about no debt for
Canada. Tax our resources leaving Canada to
          pay off our national debt.
Hm so once all our resources are gone at least
we're not broke as a country.

I think I just heard Peter Lougheed roll over in his grave. I think this Harper gov't should ask themselves- What Would Peter Do?
This is Not what he would do. And he also stated before he passed that we should Refine More of the oil here instead of just shipping Raw product.
