Thank you digger, very good post
And even more to you Freewheat, your posts can remind anyone about what's important - Thank you for that
In general, the same issues S3 posts are happening in almost every area.
They are in my back yard also.
We all can choose to manage our business in a way that makes sense for the right reasons.

digger has the art of farming down to a
tee.
lock in some prices guys here in oz have
done wheat and canola for 2013 in
october november period.
nobody holding 2012 canola all
contracted ealier and sold or sold of
harvestor prices were in top 15% 8 weeks
ago.
chems the same kinda though sask 3
locked away a heap of chemicals some
months backs must have been mistaken
and fert well the main driver of fert is
india and china they are quite at the
moment it will head north once they move
the market up.
And tom agree whilst not a super super
profitable year for me it was profitable
better than a loss
merry xmas and new year

Iron and land prices are where they're
at because of demand. SF3 is allowed to
complain here the same as me. Heck, we
even let Dumb and Dumber waste our time.
Tom has a froth at his mouth no matter
what. In order to try to maintain my
health I have to shut out both extremes,
as my worry sheet would likely kill
them!
To the post: Watching the first part
of Ken Burns' Dust Bowl. Certain aspects
of pre '30 sound exactly like today.
Suitcase farmers, wheat falling by half
in price so they increased acres etc.
etc. Time to consider caution??

Yes like tom says it was a Ok year nothing special but Ok.
To all who dont pay attention, Grain has been sold rest is sitting dont need to move till later next year will play.
On chem have lots.
Fert done earlier in year Ammonia at end of Nov.
On Marketing WHeat was very good and early canola.
So yes been here before just tired of hearling how as farmers we have to spend spend spend because the world is out of food. BS.
To all my farmer friends have a great time with family at christmas and a very very Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!!

Attitude of Gratitude...........
I know everyone gets fed-up once in a
while and needs to vent. But I think
deep down we all know how F-en lucky we
really are. I am reading a family
history book and a lot of those people
couldn't get land(the reason so many
came here and maybe having a repeat in
Canada now) and it was common for
families to have numerous children die
at various ages. Could you imagine
coming here with next to nothing and
trying to make a living and survive in
this climate, I don't know if I would
have the fortitude to do it the way they
did in an untamed frontier.
Ya there seems to be some perceived
injustices in what we do for a living
but in the big picture we are some of
the wealthiest people on the earth, not
"THE" wealthiest, but in comparison to
most, we are wealthy. Look at our
lifestyles, travelling, our diets,
healthcare, my God are we blessed. And
wealth is measured in different ways
When I take an inventory, I count way
more pros than cons. Let's not get too
upset trying to accumulate things we
can't take with us when we die.- But
I tend to think of those I'll be leaving
behind also. Enjoy the stay, in time
perspective, it really isn't that long.
Happy Holidays everyone........
