I think you understand what my point
was, if CPP wanted to invest in land
they should have done it 5 years ago.

Can you determine if there is any Crony
    Capitalism at play here?

If they Government wanted to invest in
farm land why didn't they hire or
appoint an agent and start buying
instead of buying an existing Company?

      Yes, I did understand.

But this is such an obvious bail out it makes me sick.

And then you have guys thinking the government shouldn't bail out farmers.

What happens to these lands when the tennants bail?

The story has been written and read many times already.

It takes decades for the farm community to become prosperous again.

Now its all ****ed up again or will be soon enough.

When teachers, lawyers, accountants and family members that couldn't make it when times were shitty want to start farming again, you know the high is in and its time to get out.

It really is time for me to get out.

bucket: Is it even an age issue or sick
of being on the treadmill? Or playing
"Their" game with "Their" rules that
"They" change, at will, to suit
        "Themselves"?

In reality I really have a lot to be
grateful for but am having a real hard
time feeling it lately. Maybe for the
        above listed reasons for starters.

Personally I don't mind being on a treadmill or marathon, I enjoy the nice pace of it all.

It just pisses me off when I have to sprint just to finish the race.

Farming is a marathon not a sprint.

I don't need to get rich, never was my intention. More to be well respected, with a productive life and productive kids as a legacy.

Is a marathon a race against the pack or a
challenge to beat your own personal best.
I would think in farming you're competeing against
both sprinters and marathoners. Depending on
the race being run determines the winner, enter the
            right race?

Do you honestly feel respected or abused.

            Noble aspirations!

Bucket, I don't think the cpp deal was a
bail out, I think it was simply some
idiot bureaucrats buying into the land
craze 3 years late. Regardless if it is
a bailout as you say I don't support
that either. Farmaholic why do you feel
I need therapy because I refused to be a
buyer of $50k quaters at 250k or running
rent from $29 to 85. Maybe it's because
I stuck with the reliable older canola
varieties instead of getting caught up
spending $12 lb for the latest greatest,
no I bet it's because instead of buying
new equipment I found good used stuff
for 40% less. It wasn't long ago $9
              canola was a great price

Mostly against myself to do better.

I enjoy growing a good crop, but have made more money on shitty ones.

Besides I have passed alot of sprinters in my career that were well ahead of me.

                  "idiot bureaucrats"

Bingo, but they are playing with the public's money.

                  Yours and mine.

                  And our kid's as well.

Here is a government that can't get the age younger in agriculture and can't figure out why?

No young kid can compete against the CPP.

Bigger issues are afloat in this deal that you shouldn't ignore.

Assiniboia's management has been on the public tit for years.

This was either a bailout or a corrupt scheme by them and the idiot bureaucrats.

Needs a look in either case.

Please don't ignore the fact that the deal stinks.

                        My bad farmaholic, Xmas plus
                        loading rail cars equals tired
                        eyes. Bucket, you'll get no
argument from me that the deal
                        stinks but the farm community
                        receiving an unprogramed
                        bailout would be equally
                        repugnant. The good news is
that we'll likely get a crack
at buying that land back for50
to 60 cents on the dollar

ado; are you weighing what you're putting in each
car. How long does it take you to load a car. What
is the acceptable range of tonnes per car. What is
your deadline once they are spotted.. provide lots
                          of info.
