Mostly against myself to do better.

I enjoy growing a good crop, but have made more money on shitty ones.

Besides I have passed alot of sprinters in my career that were well ahead of me.

      "idiot bureaucrats"

Bingo, but they are playing with the public's money.

      Yours and mine.

      And our kid's as well.

Here is a government that can't get the age younger in agriculture and can't figure out why?

No young kid can compete against the CPP.

Bigger issues are afloat in this deal that you shouldn't ignore.

Assiniboia's management has been on the public tit for years.

This was either a bailout or a corrupt scheme by them and the idiot bureaucrats.

Needs a look in either case.

Please don't ignore the fact that the deal stinks.

            My bad farmaholic, Xmas plus
            loading rail cars equals tired
            eyes. Bucket, you'll get no
argument from me that the deal
            stinks but the farm community
            receiving an unprogramed
            bailout would be equally
            repugnant. The good news is
that we'll likely get a crack
at buying that land back for50
to 60 cents on the dollar

ado; are you weighing what you're putting in each
car. How long does it take you to load a car. What
is the acceptable range of tonnes per car. What is
your deadline once they are spotted.. provide lots
              of info.

Where do we find buyers for rail cars of CWRS wheat? Are cars through CGC, CWB or does the buyer do paper work?

I think the "farmer friendly" federal
                  government's Ag Stability program is
                  absolutely ridiculous. Who is it
helping? Surely not the farmers! With
public breeding and Ag Stability being
neutered and UPOV'91 on the horizon the
                  federal cutbacks to balance the
deficit(not the same as our debt) are no
longer just being felt in the eastern
part of Canada but are now in our
backyard. Farmers are being taken for
                  granted by the feds!

FJlip, order rail cars through the CGC.
Rail companies cannot remove a rail car from a
siding until it is released, by you faxing the
release document to the CGC. If anything you will
bust your ass to load them in a timely manner, fax
the release and they will sit longer than you
expect. All those stories about rail cars being
pulled away partially full is all line company
folklore to discourage farmers from doing it
                    themselves.
You really should make a solid effort loading rail
                    cars. Don't screw around/farmer time.
2btrians fills a rail car. The load weight for each
car is painted on the side of the rail car. Have a
backup auger (neighbour) in case you break
down. With 2 semis and a 13 inch auger
generally speaking you can load 4-6 rail cars in
daylight. You need a big tractor chained (front
and back)to the rail cars to move them.
ALWAYS HAVE THE HAND BRAKES ON A RAIL
CAR, BRAKE ALL RAIL CARS AT NIGHT WHEN
                    LEAVING SIDING.
                    ALWAYS WEIGH AND DOCUMENT/PRINT
WEIGHTS OF GRAIN THAT GO INTO RAIL CAR.
                    ALWAYS USE ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
                    INSURANCE ON NEW BUYERS.

                      Everything is weighed, a
couple of us bought a set of
                      portable scales. Cars capacity
is printed on the side and if
I recall you can be over by
700kg, some lines going to the
states go over a scale they
                      will dump excess. Being under
                      will only hurt whoever is
                      paying the freight since
freight is by the car. Most
cars are 91 Mt with some jumbo
                      cars taking around 100mt. A
friend of mine is a grain
trader so he looks after most
of the logistics but he is an
                      organic trader so he expects
to make a lot of money on it,
but still far better than the
line companies. i get paid 80%
on net 30 and remainder at
unload. The worst part is you
never know when they will show
up. The cars I'm loading this
week we're orders for the end
                      of November. They are expected
to be loaded in 24hrs but 2 or
3 days is usually ok. They
                      don't charge demurage on
producer cars but if you dink
                      around too long it becomes
                      difficult to get them spotted
in the future. You can move
the auger instead of the cars
                      on heavier product and a
couple of the sidings I load
on don't have room to move the
cars such as Biggar CP where
                      I'm loading now.
