What to do, purchase grain bins now or a bagger don't have one

Just thinking of new crop issues if our grain does not get moved and price sucks from now to harvest. This may be the year to pay for the bins in short order which may be the best option for me since I don't have a bagger system at the moment. What are others doing? Purchase bins?

If you have the money to sit on grain when prices are low, surely
you have the money to buy bins. I say buy bins vs. bagging. IMO, it
is not even a toss-up.

BUY BINS!!!!!!!!!! You don't realize the extra help you require to use bags' I found out the hard way, it is not as simple as it appears(especiallly if you only operate with a two man crew like we did)

On a more serious note, to me bagging seems like a pain. Unless, like Carebear said, you have the man power to run the system.

Thanks care I forgot about the extra person required. With bins and an auger one trucker can keep up with two combines. One man job. Two men or women in combines. No mobile field bin operator.

It works great with the extra man power. But Bins are their forever. Ok till a storm.
We have both bins and bagger. Bagger is good for excess. You still need bins.

Lots of BTOs around here use baggers
because their landlords don't have bins
for them to use or rent. Then they
gotta get it out asap before the deer
and ravens and such start in on it. Or
it rots. Gotta get er out!!

They have their place but if storing the
production on your owned land is a
problem every year, its a short term
solution to a long term problem. Unless
you have short term plans......
