The railways win again! Didn't expect farmers to win!

Watch all in attendance pat each other on the
back! Wink wink no good questions from
reporters! News conference ends! But ag canada
announces help for the horse industry for shows!
We'll done! We can all hitch our horse to our
    wagons and haul grain!
Not much thought went into this, 100000 per day
short. All they have to do is send. Few oil trains
instead and make up the big fine their!
It was a start that the order in council is a start
and maybe the railways will start ramping up
again since spring is here! I know ours will move
now in May during seeding! It will cost me money
since I will have to hire custom truckers because
we will be seeding! No problem I'll do my part and
deliver then on fall contract. The railways
yesterday in the full page add said every one has
to do their part we'll as a farmer I will!
So yes it's something good that could have been
put in place last December when all knew the
situation but that's Ottawa don't expect any thing
    fast.

What I find funny is it comes a day after
pipe line Co's announce they are going to
ship oil east by reversing oil in line
and just when the oil is not going to be
in as big of demand in the east for
    heating fuel.

Next question is: is your elevator full
of the grain that is needed for the next
boat or the one that is down the line and
won't be loaded for 5 wks.

Don't think I'm not happy they finally got the
message that their is a problem! Thank you for
finally seeing that! 5 weeks puts us Easter so
don't think Good Friday their open but Easter
Monday were a go! Time will tell if this works but
they need a solid plan because this year should
prove one thing as a industry were not ready to
play big time exporter to the world just yet!
So good start ritz good start! Good play on the
Friday announcement will be nothing in any paper
      next week at all!

        1. The RR's got publicly slapped.
        2. The Govt has shown willingness to act as a
        real lube regulator.
        3. All options remain on the table; car service
        could even be ramped up.
        4. Monitoring and supporting data is now
        mandatory.
        5. Global markets will regain confidence
        6. Farmers were invited to take the opportunity to
        Have input into the solve.
        7. Agriculture was granted legislative
        precedence, which speaks to agriculture's
        importance.

Those are good things, folks. Pars

I agree on all points just wish it had more meat on
the bone! $1,000,000. A day that would have
          been great! Time will tell.

Well at least we have a little clout left.

As much as i hate to say it we need to act more like
french farmers, they have the no more mister nice guy
              attitude.

May not be enough true, but it is s hell of aslot more thsn sny Liberal or NDP gov't would have done. What is needed is the grain co's to pay fines on late deliveries as well both loading trains and taking in farmers contracts - and keep it there. Farmers get wacked if we are late or short tonnes - now it's time for all to pay for incompitance IMO.
BTW, as has been said - cold or not - oil was moving....

Hunter Harrison could pay it himself out of his yearly salary and still have $12.6 million left

$100,000 a day isn't much in the big picture, and I take it these fees go to WGRF as well?
Yet the thing is, will the share holders of CN and CP pick up on this? will it be enough to make them take notice and see why isn't CN and CP more aggressive in moving any product by increasing service which, to me, would make more profit for the RR's and well - more dividends for the shareholders!
