Grain price emails only show price for #1, 13.5 protein that I receive.
Viterra website only shows #1, 13.5 as well.
A phone call is required for premiums and deductions.

Similar to the railways, it seems more regulation is needed to keep grain buyers accountable and transparent.

Big diff. in price discounts from #2 to #3 at local plants..Same sample is a stand along #2 at Viterra and a #3 at Richardson's..Diff. is 50 cents per bushel..

Wheat trials from Sat here were interesting and showed the value of wider spreads in protien as of lately
From 11.8 to 13.6 pro in hrsw $.70/ bus - a fair chunk of change at 75 bus/ac
That spread has doubled from a week ago

This isnt looking good for some areas. Screwed pulse crops screwed cereal crops and frost problems on late oilseeds

Cotton, but is basically only the producers problem. Everyone else will get paid for what they've done or going to do. Elevation, misgrading, and blending will provide the same income sources for the terminals and freight(truck or rail) will be paid to move it. Inputs have been or will be paid for as well.

I agree, shop around and don't always jump at first opportunity

S3, do you ever think that you get the shaft because of your attitude?

Man, I have never seen someone that is so down and negative.

If I was a grain company, equipment dealer I would run when I see you walk up

In my comments where did I say don't shop around.

All I said is that your attitude sucks, you constantly complain about everything.

If I was a grain or input company I would insert a pain premium for working with you

Grade, Dkg and prot on the same sample should be the exact same at all elevators. The deals should be made in the marketing office.
If not the same there is something wrong with grader lack of training, human error or just trying to beat you.

Too many subjective grading factors that open the doors to cheating. Hard not to get ergot right but what constitutes damage regarding fusarium and midge and bran frost, etc....

Agree ergot can be a crap shoot at times. Fus, midge all other objective factors are black and white. Subjective factors, Ie: frost, mil are laid out in the degree of soundness and represented in the official standards.
Problem is how many guys have had proper training on there use.

Bigger problem as I see is how elevators handle your sample and how that can/does scew results.

You are right in a way on ergot. 10 different samples from one load can give 10 diff results.
