Ritz start talking to the ones who got you elected'

It's rather funny that most MPs from western canada seem to think farming is tickety boo!
No problems with inconsistent grades, railway service or canceled and delayed contracts.
    Everything is running smooth!
Well hell no it's probably the worst winter shit show next to last year!
Rail service is hit and miss!
Elevators are plugged and payments are due!
Talking to your MP is like talking to a brick wall!
You get the standard line were studying the situation! Really did that play come out of the Liberal hand book!
Worst phone call a farmer can get when you have grain contracted months ago and know the grade and price and then are told sorry can't do anything this week phone Monday! So you phone Monday and are told phone Friday! Been here done that over and over!
Rail service sucks, contracts are one sided, elevators are plugged because orders never arrive!
Yet the industry wants us to produce more and more!
    Funny situation!
Then the other is the divide between those who had won the grain lottery and those who didn't! Now it seems some are finally seeing what lots on the east side dealt with last winter!
Easy to catch up in May when we're all seeding it's only 60 days away!
Simple things could be put in place to help but no one seems to listen! Where are farm groups!
It's a stuck record but why any young person would ever want to farm is beyond me!
Farming more than ever is going down the proverbial tube!
So phone your MP or all that are active realize no one is listening or cares!
    Ah farming!

Starting to slowly see that being a advocate for farmers is not worth the hastel! It's divide and conqure!
Sad really but it happens each and every day! Farming two steps forward then one back!
We're stuck in the middle of a country with some very good land but can't seem to get change after a century of trying! Study study study! I still think family farms will survive!
But overproduction and no planning got us to the place were at!

Good luck all your going to need it!

What farmers need is a point man that represents all the groups involved in this issue.

One guy with a clear understanding of the issues and defined goals of the groups and farmers he represents. And look at them objectively.

Someone that can sit in front of a parliamentary or senate committee and repeat the demands over and over ad nauseum.

Someone that has facts and figures at their fingertips.

Someone that can rely on farmers and vice versa with good information.

Someone that can correlate prices to railway and grainco performance.

And finally someone who can call bullshit and say farmers will do this or that and have their support.

SF3 - who would be your pick for the job?

I know my pick. Convincing him is the challenge.

You know who I would pick also! But that's what we need! As long as everyone is going in different directions we will never see a change!

Ag more than ever going in 50 different ways! Ah farming!

we had a federal rep like that here , was real genuine and seemed to care about sask farmers and in the news all the time ....., but sadly he has been silenced lately . made to much noise , I guess? should of been Ag minister, wish he was still working for us

Isn't the reality in Canada that the election is already decided by the time the polls close in Ontario?

Top down democracy, they represent the Gov plans/laws TO US. Ass backward, should be called parliament members NOT MPs.
Agree SK3 "It's a stuck record but why any young person would ever want to farm is beyond me!
Farming more than ever is going down the proverbial tube!"

Same for my 45 years, nothing changes...

Couldn't run his ag service side! We would need a mill meaning asking for a lot of our checkoff dollars going to fund this idea! It's all about the money! But yes the way it's going now is useless!
Groups do nothing but try to get their one point done!
Sad the more things change the more they stay the same!

If Justin can't win Quebec he has a problem! Maybe Ottawa knows that and doesn't want to shake the boat!
But if lots out west stay home or just dong care could some seats change!
I'm curious, but also lots are at their expired date and this next one means nothing they see the promise land!
But definitely need a change in advocacy in Ottawa!

Weber could double his subscription fees and take a good portion of the check off dollars.

It would be money well spent.

The rest can't fall into place until farmers get the transportation and grainco files straightened out.

If mulcair gets a minority that would put the old conservatives out to pasture where they belong and get a new team of ankle biters to keep the west's interests front and center.

These bastards just keep taking our vote for granted.

In case you folks had not noticed:

Many new faces have been nominated as the new MP seats redrew our constituencies. I am not sure if SK or MB has changed significantly... Alberta has.

                              FYI
