    Beans and Canola 'toppy'???

We have had a nice Canola rally on wet weather...

We finished swathing all our Canola on our farm... looks better than we expected. Straight cut Canola fields are starting to get ready in north central AB for harvest direct... when weather drys out the Canola surge will hit with vengeance...

Lots of fields straight cut here also in the areas where crops decent. Does pod seal work good?

The rally is just starting. Boats are coming in but the canola is not going out due to wet. Look for spot opportunities for that massive old crop carryover.

Considering the large crop carryover all the terminals seem to be looking hard for canola and are taking it tough.

Glad your bones are feeling chiper today Crusher... Basis narrowing... nice for those who have seed in bin! Bunge Crusher at Ft Sk short of seed... Off the combine for those who have Canola ready...

Well Tom you may be right. Green peas - Zero movement, HRSW locally here Zero movement. Yellow peas are I would think 75% gone and 98% harvested. Lentils / barley are becoming a grading nightmare.
Remaining wheat in the field is being downgraded to a 3 from what I hear.
That leaves the only stable cash crop that will hold it's grade, for the most part .. canola. And I agree a lot will be dumped as soon as weather clears. Yields and late seeded grades will be the only debateable factor.

Tom, Fort Sk basis for Sept delivery is 28 under. Is that good for harvest time there?
Cargill Camrose for Edmonton East Sept delivery is 19.70 under for farm pickup.
              10 under for self haul.

                farming101,
I note that also. Maybe a phone call tells you a different story. I haven't tried. I know Richardson widened basis $7 yesterday here, plus they have a canola train coming this weekend???

canola surge ??? sounds like marketing column in WP . obviously some pants around ankles right now , $10.50 spot from combine . thought we could never haul canola that wasn't pre-priced ahead of time ??.

Ya, you need to phone to confirm, but usually web prices are accurate. If they aren't what good are they?
