Mass shootings in the US are the result of one thing - THE MEDIA. The extensive coverage, "breaking news", close ups of the pain inflicted on everyone is the driver. When nut job psychos see the extent of the pain such incidents inflict they are strongly attracted to the idea of being famous for causing such.

If anyone thinks you can be on a no fly list and just go to a US gun store and buy a gun, you're dreaming. That is just another Obama/Liberal BS myth.

Mustard, what do you know, I agree with you on this.

I own a couple guns but only shoot them a few times a year at gophers, magpies and pigeons.

The only thing is this is closing the bar door after the horse has left.

If you want to see a real revolution, try getting the US government try and confiscate guns from some of the wackos that should never had have them.

      It's a pretty tough situation.

        Braveheart

Tell that to the parents of Sandy Hook that it was the Media's fault for the killing of their children. How much do you donate to the NRA, Mr Desperado?

Mustard, if I was American I would belong to the NRA. I do belong to the CSSA, Canadian Shooting Sports Association.

Sandy Hook was not the first (won't be the last) mass shooting but these are recent phenomenon. There's always been guns. There's always been the bullied, the schizophrenic, the unbalanced, but 24 hr news is the new ingredient. More than anything else the graphic scenes of terror, grief, of lives destroyed shown on media provides that gratification to the perpetrators like nothing else can. Knowing, even if they've been killed or killed themselves, that their actions will hurt so many and millions more that watch will satisfy their dark twisted needs.

If you think gun bans would stop these attacks you're mistaken. Anyone that needs a gun can get one. If they can't get one easily, just drive a fuel tanker into a building, use a knife, doesn't matter. Mass killings are a product of media attention. Of course media is also a puppet of the liberal, socialist power structures of the world.

A lot more people die in knife attacks. You are never going to take guns away from gangs and criminals so why tie the hands of those of us who would rather defend ourselves against them?

Braveheart, media coverage of mass killing happens in countries other than the US but no-one else has the number of mass killings the US has. Media coverage is not the cause.

I agree with Braveheart on this, although media may not be the underlying cause it sure isn't helping by inadvertently "sensationalizing" the mass shooting events. Hour after hour, day after day of ****ing media coverage, give some lunatic the stage they want and there you have it. The only thing I would edit in Braveheart's last post is insert "WANT" for "NEED". Big difference to me.
