      Never found thistles to be much of a problem in a properly managed perennial pasture situation. Click image for larger version

      Smart cattle recognize thistles for what they are - another valuable with a feed value roughly the same as alfalfa. Yearling bulls moved off this pasture this morning.

          There are a lot of stupid ones around apparently. Kathy Voth has run a remedial school for them since 2004.

              Yeah? I've never had sheep eat anything other than the flower buds and that was a rarity. Nettles yes, both cows and sheep as they are such a nutritional powerhouse.
