    Thank you Police Officers.

Thank you officers for the good work you do.

The awful news from the USA must make it more difficult for police officers and their families.

I have a lot of friends who do this important job and wanted to see how everyone else felt.

I know people are not perfect but hope this violence against the police ends.

Sorry, I just needed to vent a little.

    I agree.

But I also look at cause and effect.

Police officers can't be shooting or mistreating people because they feel like it.

    Has to be balanced.

They are not helping themselves with their poor judement.

Totally agree farmgal. Thank you! Not a job I would want. Can't compare our country to the US where it's really become a racial war. Should be interesting to watch Cleveland this week.

        Amen Bucket....

Fatally shooting a man at point blank range that is already wrestled to the ground? Shooting a man brandishing a knife walking away from you?

It's all a ****ing mess.....domestically USA seems to be splitty at the seams.

        Martial Law next?

They need MORE assault guns, or 2 holsters, six shooters, belt of bullets...oops that was the 1800's. Dejavu all over again!
Must be buying frenzy about now, bet ammo is in short supply. The gun industry doing great.
Just like they are on another planet?

Yes a big thank-you to all our police officers. I think the real problem is lack of respect they are shown. There maybe the odd bad apple in the force but the people I know who are officers are tolerant people. I think you pull any weapon or threaten a police officer expect to be taken down with force and it may result in injury or death.

We are asking these people to protect us and handle very tough situations they need to make split second choices. Are they always going to be correct - likely not but they have to make a judgement call. Pull over a bunch of meth heads at night or pull over someone who addresses you as officer and answers all questions politely - think one you approach with gun drawn the other a cautious but relaxed approach works.

I have spoken to my teenagers - clearly stated if the "cops" show up at a party you are at - it is yes sir and you listen and obey. You get pulled over same deal.

Lax gun laws and racism(both ways) and a kettle that's been simmering for a while, boiling point is reached and she's about to boil over. It's a mess.

Police aren't always honest, I caught some in a situation that put themselves at risk(potential for a Mayerthorpe style situation), when confronted about it(for their own good) they denied the situation took place. Literally Rookies. Look, you made a mistake and thankfully nobody got hurt, I bet they learned something from it!

Thankful to have them though.... couldn't pay me enough!!

Would be chaos without them. They do not get enough respect

They are human so every once in a while one makes mistakes or is just bad those should be dealt with under the rules of law. But they all should not be painted with the same brush.

So thank you law enforcement, first responders etc!!!!!

I dont generally believe in quota hires, but police departments need to reflect the racial diversity in their jurisdictions.

Yep thanks for police officers! Too bad the media doesn't show both sides, the police get vilified but they fail to mention the fact that the suspect was unco-operative and hostile. Like someone said, it should be yessir and no sir. Time to show respect.

Devil's Advocate. .......and what about the power hungry, egotistical, racist, crooked, dishonest ones. Extremes on both sides. And both sides are but far the norm.

Remember the coin analogy. Three sides to a coin....three sides to every story. My side, your side and the edge side.....the thin side that divides our sides and is the truth.

Remember media can twist shit out of proportion....both sides! Is it media's fault for sensationalizing these episodes? Or was it better when the world was much bigger, news travelled much slower and not everybody was carrying a video recording device? Times have changed, whether for the better or worse is what's up for debate.

                      Sad it's come to this.

Remember our very own Force's reputation with the supposed "Starlight Tour".
