    Ducks unlimited

Anyone have any experience dealing with Ducks Unlimited. They want to flood some of my land.

Just tell them to **** off.

In my experience they are the worst so called conservationist organization to be found.

Here in pothole country, ducks unlimited like to buy it for 15 to 30 percent of value of land on rest of quarter. 200 to 300 bucks . They will then develop it to further hold water, and eventually put the parcel up for sale at three quarters going rate with a caveat preventing it from ever being developed. Yea, new neighbours.

Don't do it. I started back in the 80s with 6 pairs from wascana lake at the farm now they are so plentiful sask crop insurance pays big amounts for damage! They have way to many and we need two seasons! Out of hand!
There is no shortage of wildlife! None at all!

Ducks is maybe the worst, most destructive organization in Canada. I still fee guilty I took 4 dollars an acre from them to grow winter wheat before I knew better.

Have nothing to do with them. Fight anything that they try and do. They will not be happy until all of Saskatchewan is one big undrainable unfarmable swamp.

We sold them 120 acres of 2 foot deep water, that is connected to a C+D ditch..Its a lake that never drains.but level in maintained .Paid us the going rate for farm land..In the fall we set up a scare cannon on our 40 acres..Not a bird in the water for them. It echos like crazy over the water...hahahahaa...So turned out real well for us..

I am neutral on DU. I neither hate or like them. What diff does it make if they like to conserve ducks and water?

What are some stories out there of the terrible ness they have done?

They paid me half my seed cost for alfalfa. Fine by me.

They have as much interest in you, your farm, and your farms well being as the oil companies have. If you are good with that go right ahead.

So just hate them? No reason? Anyone wanna share specifics about what they are going to do to me for taking money from them? I signed an agreement with them, nothing sneaky or shady. I simply provide a cover crop, they pay me for half the seed.

Heck of a crop too, I never knew alfalfa grew that tall and thick. Wow! They should have paid me to over winter my fabas, there were more duck nests in there than I could count. lol
