    Hrsw grades ...

    All over the map here
Same pails at one place is a poor 3 or feed , next place 1/2 mile away same pail its holding a #1 .
Not sure why it has to be such a circus every year at the start of harvest
P&H buying wheat , others say there is no market for wheat till November
Just glad to have some alternatives here all close.

Oh to add the third ring to the circus is lightning thunder and rain here again this morning . Wheat just got close to doable late yesterday afternoon after the thunder storm and 2/10 yesterday morning .
At least this one is staying just east of us this morning .
"Binthere " , you getting that rain over east ?

That's the beauty of canola , it will still be a number 1 into October
If it rains more , I will just go help kids pick the sweet corn and help them sell it . Always something else to do
As far as the wheat , don't realy care , it's a joke anyway

Yes variations in fields and in each bin is why elev usually buy based on average bin sample but bin on each truck sample. Lots of money left on table.

There should be no variation in the same Fukin pail ! Graded at on elevator then 10 min later at the next - not from a feed to a number 1 .
Off course there is variations from field to field and with in fields , but not the same sample pail .

Furrow...its because grading is being done subjectively not objectively. When a person has to pick out damage versus a machine measuring values is were the whole grading process hits the skids. I've come to expect it! Do I like it....no! Am I surprised....no! But still frustrating.

Huge lightning show this morning! Plus a healthy splash of rain. The lightning was very close, time to stop work on combine. Im pretty sure we are straight east of you furrow.

I dread trying to haul/sell wheat.
As if the price isn't beyond sick already but that's not enough.... Gotta take the tweezers to it besides. Why oh why did we seed so much wheat again???
Someone said this spring at seeding time it was going to better.... They were wrong!!!

If there was universal, mandatory, certified training and the Act was enforced there would be much less problem.

Elevator staff should be a journeyman trade with certification after you have completed course. We are talking farm income and human health and safety.

Wmoebis....you may have struck a chord on the last two points but I highly doubt the first is high on their priority list.

I can understand a slight grade differance or protein difference but what is going on is not right
