Wonder what carbon tax supporters think about bio-diesel and ethanol. Would they be treated same as fossil fuels?
Tax on natural gas is likely to work through to nitrogen fertilizer and, ultimately, to biofuels.
Many unanswered questions about taxes and regulation on greenhouse gases.
Better to take our time on legislation.

In 1959 gasoline was about 23 to 25 cents per Imperial gallon (delivered). Somehow, with all the "advances" since then; the competitive price seems to be near a buck a liter...when crude oil prices are hovering at mid 40's per barrel. And there are no shortages evident

Now in 1959 were the futurists predicting today's price? Or do they know as little as anyone else except how to feed propaganda about what they believe is sure to happen.

Now is diesel powered tillage what will work and is sustainable for organic farming in the future?. Is foreign labor the way to man those same machines while intensively working prairie soils every other year? Do you just let really bad weeds go to seed because you refuse to use the full arsenal of tools available to control those weeds? Does the noxious weed act trump spot spraying weeds that really shouldn't be allowed to gain a foothold? Should inseparable weed infested seed be spread by using it for seeding purposes?

And is it realistic to expect SaskPower to ever charge 4c/Kwh?

This whole climate-warming scheme has been orchestrated, connived and concocted to wrestle the wealth away from countries that extract fossil fuels. Media, movie stars, sensationalizing "scientists", fake reports, fake identities of posters, every possible scheme has been implemented to fuel the fires of 'climate change" -all hinging on .8 degrees temperature rise since 1880, that may or may not be factual. Furthermore that miniscule change that MAY be caused by temp recording stations' location or changing material of station boxes is the reason behind me having to be taxed when my nation contributes merely 1.5% of the carbon that MAY but probably doesn't have anything to do with a temperature change problem that still is unproven to exist. How rediculous can man get? How can Westerners fall for this tripe? What a sham!

Take away the subsidies and taxes none of the Eco-energy sources will stand on their own.
Get ready to pay more for electricity if coal power plants are decommissioned like in Alberta. Their only alternative to not have an significant increase is buying power from a neighbouring province.

Oliver88 that is very informative, wind and solar combined are less than 2% of world energy production. I am confused everything I read says wind and solar are taking over, we don't need oil. This shows that all the enviro-zombies are full of BS. To bad CBC would never publish these numbers, they are very biased.

Guess which one will survive in the long haul, tax or no tax.

The earth's atmosphere has been leaking oxygen for the past 800,000 years. It has lost 0.7% of the stuff animal life needs to live. Scientists don't know why this is happening.

Plant life has gained in the CO2 department, the stuff it needs to live by a few parts per million. Scientists know every thing as to why it is happening.

ALL LIFE ON EARTH IS CARBON BASED. Carbon is a natural element. IMHO carbon tax is a tax against life.

A carbon tax is a tax against everyone's cost of living.....meanwhile Suzuki will live it up in one of his four mansions.

It will disproportionately hurt people in a colder, rural setting than it would to an urban hipster living in an apartment. This is likely why left wing politicians are the main pushers of this tax.

It will all come to an end when the money runs out, currently Ontario is cancelling "green" energy projects because of their out of hand debt.
