Business leaders support CARBON TAX on the rest of us....to make $$$ of course... on us

We are pleased to hear that Canada will put a price on carbon emissions, as most of the world’s biggest economies are doing. Carbon pricing is the most economically effective way to reduce emissions and stimulate clean innovation – which will be critical to Canada’s success in a changing global economy. The proposed Canada-wide approach works with provinces and territories, and allows for regionally-tailored paths towards a common goal. By starting slowly and ramping up over 5 years, it gives businesses and households time to adjust and plan for lowering their carbon footprints.

A rising carbon price is critical to put Canada on a path to meet its Paris climate commitments, and build the foundation for a cleaner, stronger economic future. It will need to be part of an overall approach that includes world class regulations to promote energy efficiency and clean production, investments in clean infrastructure, and targeted public support to accelerate clean innovation across the economy, leveraging private capital. A well-designed plan will secure Canadian competitiveness and jobs, while buffering any disproportionate impacts on vulnerable populations and sectors.

This will not reduce fossil fuel usage on industries such as Ag where there is no alternative but fossil fuels to do the job .
The whole world is cursing glyphosate, which has reduced the amount of fossil fuel needed per acre of production .
Just seems like there is a huge bulls eye on any spare nickel primary producers have and everyone is after it . It's become glaring now
But bio fuels will reduce the fossil fuel needed in Ag and all transportation- but then that would be a benifit to the farmer so they can't do that - lets just tax the hell out our selves for a lost cause

Ralph Goodale is not a friend of Sask either.

He was just on Gormley show praising what a carbon tax would do for Sask and actually Gormley got him to admit green house gas levels are rising in BC after having a carbon tax for close to a decade!

What would a carbon tax do for SK other than lower standards of living for those not on the take from government?

Its all about money and taking from some and giving to useless others.
Farmers will be the big losers.

But he doesn't care if he pisses off 60000 Farmers who have lived worked and built Canada or 60000 Syrians he just moved here. He wins every way you slice it.
