Well it was a week that we got F$%K All Done! Combines moved to town got repaired and moved home for last stretch if the weather breaks. But so far no one moving. Things did look promising on Sunday then Thanks Giving Monday it snowed again. Still not the Snow some have but FRICKING awful wet shitty ugly snow.
By late evening yesterday all the snow had left again and lets hope or Pray like Drew Said that the weather breaks. Some have reported that their still is 5 mill tonnes of Canola left in the fields. I would agree. that is 18 - 5= 13 total production because wintering canola has two options. It makes something or Eddy Match. Most times its Eddy Match.
So basically its a real easy report no one did any Fall work any Banding any Harvesting etc in the last week. Ugly weather for the area. Roads are soft slimmy mess. Back roads are off limits and real ugly. Sprayers are mostly put away as all fall spraying from now on is done.
If we Can go My guess it would be Saturday or Sunday. But now they are calling for rain friday and Sunday. With the Dryer we could go as soon as the crop can go through the machine but it is hard on combines and makes for big bills after harvest. Is it worth it? Yes you still have to try till the last day to get the crop harvested.
The remaining crop is a long way from being in the bin and ready for winter.
So what are others seeing in their area and how much snow is still left. Fields are fracking wet as picture above no water was their a week ago and swaths went strait through.
Be safe have a good tow rope, pull tractor etc. Its going to be some long hours if we get it.
Its just a crop that the market still believes we will get and pay us sweet F$%K all for.
Have a great week!
