Politicians say some interesting things

Two articles I just read had the premier and sask ag minister saying things of interest.

1. Stewart says the crop is still harvestable .....

“It causes anxiety, but there’s still time for some good weather,” Stewart told reporters this morning.

“In ’09 and 2010 we had more crop than this out at this time of the year and had some good weather in later October and early November and most of that crop came off.”


Really....I was combining in November of 2009 ...totally different.


2. Brad Wall on carbon tax.....

""""Wall told reporters Oct. 12 that he doesn’t see the point of taking carbon taxes from farmers and then paying them back through income tax reductions or other tax breaks.

“What is the point?” he said.""""



That's right it won't come in the form of a carbon tax refund...just applied against income tax....we will still be paying it upfront and really not getting it back with our contribution to the environment.

We should be "harvesting carbon" TM. LOL.
