    wheat market? canola market?

Has anything fundamentally changed in last two days??
You guys have huge weather issues Australia has another rain bearing system not really wanted. But still a lot of grain world wide.

Or is it the old adage low prices cure low prices?

All that's happened here today futures givith basis taketh away

Well if today's forecast come true then there will be a lot in this area left out all winter with some of that needing to be burned in the spring including the bulk of my canola. (Edmonton east region) Heavy snowfall warning for here. There are some wheat, oats and barley out in this area as well most of which will likely get burned eventually.

In Canada a 18 mt crop will actually become a 13 mt crop. If the storm coming does hit. Durum is another that has issues in Canada and Add good old Oats.
Flax is a twisted fracking mess also.

Rain in the forecast for Sunday here. It's relentless...guys can't seem to catch a break. Quality wheat should hold it's own. Feed wheat I believe will get cheap! Canola crop is shrinking by the day. Cant see the canola prices rising alot at the terminal pit until the prospect of harvest comes to an end in Western Canada. According to 101's satellite imagery (or where ever its from)....snow cover looks BAD in a large area. July MiniWheats at $5.48USD or about $7.12 CAD, less basis, and hoping it continues its ascent. West Coast wheat #1 13.5 px.... 16/17 cumulative average $290/tonne about $7.90 in store West Coast.

What is your best guess as to how high canola will go?

May canola is in a small inverse to July canola.

I get a sick twisted feeling in my gut when I'm talking about marketing canola and prices and some guys are hoping to get their crop off. I'm sorry..... absolutely no schadenfreude here!!!

Freezing rain here, half inch ice on everything. Looks like tapering off now heading northeast. Kids are excited with the first school bus snow day of the year!

There was talk on other farm forums about the possibility of making more profit by just buying and selling your favorite commodity on paper.
You just can't take your eye off the market nowadays. It can make a difference.

8:30 trade very positive this morning
It'll be interesting to see if the Nov contract is concluded in an orderly fashion or if there will be a few fireworks. Keep cheering

101...but are pit prices/farmgate prices rising? Or is basis doing a good job of soaking up the gains?
